I have read many threads on Vista and that it will be replacing XP.

Can someone please advise what the differences between XP and Vista are going to be and when it will be released.

Can we please also use this thread to post questions/answers about Vista and any other information that would be useful to novices like myself.

Thanks Very Much

Stick with xp for another year
will take that long to iron out all the bugs and to get good driver support
I have beta tested it and its just xp with more bells and whistles
more bells and whistles = needs more cpu power and more memory
you will need a powerfull pc to run it the sames speed as xp

hope this helps

Thanks djnaff,

I am thinking of buying a laptop and was going to wait until Vista comes out.

Also hope to hear others opinions on Vista and should I wait for Vista or buy a laptop with XP, the one I am thinking of at the moment is the 5102 from Comet.

Thanks

Spot on fella  , it will just look a little more pretty. what i can see from beta testing is that the technology hasnt advanced any further. but my god is it hungry, its a very heavy install so if you are going to invest in Vista then be prepared for a new PC/laptop or an upgrade of what you have.
