The crowd of about 1000 people are chanting FAIR Votes Now and We Want to Speak to Nick.
They are worried that The lib dems may be sold out in any coalition deal with the conservatives

I really don't see what their problem is, under pr the negotiations right now are exactly what would be happening. The only difference being they'd have a couple of more mps to fight over the govt limos they'd just sold their souls to get.
#9
Has the council results be done yet across the country or just England?

I heard something to the effect that Labour have made many gains. Not seen any actual results

But that would require a referendum of whether we want PR or not first though...

I know lolingtons.

It's going to get worse as well, especially if he props up a dead govt that the huge majority of England don't want.

Not a good time for the UK at all really...........

just to open up another can of worms its not really fair us Scottish people could be governed by a Conservative government when they only one seat up here
#18
Think you really gotta realise just why we got this situation. Gideon Osborne was campaign organiser. Tories should have run away with a win if that was country's real decision. But Osborne couldnt be left on his own to fight his way out of a wet paper bag. Now we have to believe he can run the country's economy without propping up.
Need to get ready for round 2 I think. But labour supporters have to ignore the media message this time and actually vote properly

No neither is it fair for England to have a Labour govt of anysort, when the overwhelming majority of England is Blue, and Labours stronghold are Wales/Scotland.

On the whole England is totally sick of Labour with no SNP equivalent to turn too, it would be a huge nightmare for the country if he propped up a govt so unpopular across the whole of England.

Get the voting system sorted and let us vote again.

If it is still an epic fail, then I am all for rioting to split the country up.

to be fair to george he did mastermind the tories biggest gain in seast since the 30's. It's not really his fault that they started so far behind labour in terms of seats or that the local boundaries etc had been skewed by labour to make it virtually impossible for them to get an overall majority, All things considered he didn't do that badly.

Maybe labour should reconsider letting douglas alexander anywhere near an election, after his terrible showing in the scottish parliment elections where he managed to lose labour scotland to the snp and now another defeat I can't see him being allowed to run a bath again nevermind another campaign.

Nick Clegg came out and addressed the group. They are now beginning to disperse.

This parliament does not represent us, lol! Yes it does it's how people voted and that's why were are in the mess now.

England=Tory

Scotland/Wales =Labour.

No one is ever going to agree, and the fact that Labour has fixed the system anyway so they have an inbuilt advantage.

I agree with fptp, I think it needs sorting as in, take away Labours huge advantage and give us our own parliament in England, have an overall one for the UK as we do now, but it would be sensible. As Scotland have such a huge say over the result which then governs us in England we don't have our own parliament or the SNP equivalent to look out for us.

PR would be a nightmare in this country IMO, it will let the likes of the BNP in and you think this is uncertain, it would be worse, all shady deals behind closed dorrs, just more people doing it.

I don't think pr would be that big a deal it works rather well up here in scotland and throughout most of europe. It may well initially give a few fringe loons or even the racist bnp a couple of seats but after seeing what they had to offer the voters would quickly show them the door. It happened in the scottish parliament with the crazy left wing, chancers crooks and idiots of the Scottish socialist party and the greens getting a few seats. But after seeing what they had to offer the voters quickly turned their back on them and now only 1 green msp is left with the ssp party imploding on itself.

fptp i can't understand how you think it is fair for exampe lib dems got 23% share of the vote but only got 57 seats, Labour on the other hand got 29% share of the vote yet got 258 seats
What advantage??
make no difference still have a North/South divide, can only see it working with regional assemblies, but then how do you split the regions?
Incase you failed to notice it s a UK election and now do you work out Scotland has to much say as i stated previously up in Scotland the tories got 1 seat yet we are likely to be governed by tory
