I have been a PAYG with Orange all the time and never have bought contract phone.
However, an interested in getting HTC HD2 on Vodafone on 24 month contract. I wanted to ask that after say 12+ months can the contract be downgraded even though it was 24 month. Has anyone with any other network done that before. I read it somewhere before but cant find it.
Thanks in advance.
Am new here so do excuse me if this is not right section

some companies i.e phones4u buy you out or something after 12 months and offer you a new phone or something nnot sure what its all about though. PAYG all the way. :)

Some network will let you move down one plan a month, but some will only let move in the last month or last 3 months. Not up on what Voda do, but most of them were moving to only letting you move in the last few months.

Best bet is to call them and ask.

Thanks for the replies.
am thinking of buying from mobiles.co.uk
anyone know if they are any good? seems like they have good deal on some phones, better than directly from network?

mine was from there and i had no problems with them.

A lot of the plans are fixed the 24 months, you can UPgrade but not down grade..

Also... if you amend you plan in ANYWAY and are getting cash back via redemption, this will void your cashback claim with mobiles.co.uk.. (read the small print.)

The plan am thinking of does not include cashback, just straight £25/month. I'll read their terms&conditions, probably get in touch with them too.

If you order a contract - use PROMO code - GWBT003 and get a Free Jabra Bluetooth 2010 Headset,

Plus.. Quidco for CASHBACK ! £30 for a pay-monthly phone contract sale

Nice! Thanks for that!

They mention some minimum period by which i cant change the tarrif etc else i'd have to hand them the phone back in their terms&conditions. but getting in touch to clarify the details.
Thanks for all your input so far.

Just to update. I got reply from mobiles.co.uk

hi,

if you are looking to downgrade your tariff ..then most networks usually allow it after 6 months, sometimes 9 months. you should still be able to keep the handset if you downgrade.

regards

Seems alright to me. Hope this might help someone else. Thanks for all your input again. will get the deal later on. will look into quidco as well.
