VODAFONE AND QUIDCO WARNING!

I purchased a 12month sim only deal on 14th Oct from Vodafone website via quidco, whcih entitles me to £70 cashback.

Tracked on Vodafone right away but only for £15, started a ticket on Quidco and they sorted it and said I will get the £70 as inidcated on the vodafone details.

Today, I got a call from Vodafone saying they had a problem processing my order and they would re-do my order over the phone. For my trouble, they would even give me my first months line rental for free (worth £15).

I asked him if my order number would change, and lo and behold, yes it would.
WHAT A SURPRISE! By cancelling your online order and doing it over the phone they are not liable for the Quidco cashback as the terms state 'for orders solely completed online'.

SO PLEASE BEWARE!

sorry, did not know where to post. Can a mod please move to the correct section?

I had the same with my Quidco vodafone order a year ago - but made them give me half price rental for 12 months as compensation.

Also, have lost Quidco on over a £1,000 of goods this year, and their support is atrocious.

I emailed them to see where my order is, thereby trying to keep the same order number. If not, I will try and negotiate a deal like you have!

Hey, it's easy when you're new on here to make the odd mishap. Perhaps this section would be fine - http://www.hotukdeals.com/all/misc/new

I guess that is the best section. Maybe we should have a warnings section too? How can I move the post to there?

I ended up receiving several calls from different voda sales staff the day following my order, and 1 seemed more accomodating - I didn't settle for the first offers, and of course, he had to disappear to speak to his boss about discount rental, like the window sellers do etc, but got it in the end.

Look around for other goodies that may be on offer, such as free bluetooth headsets too, as whilst these can mess up quidco tracking if you add voucher codes, if you do order with them on the phone, you won't have such restrictions.

Just show them that you're not desperate to close the sale etc. Good luck!!

Not sure if you can move it, or delete it, or need help from a moderator - they're really helpful and understand we make mistakes etc.

Edit - you can expire a post, but I think that would mean re-typing the whole lot, so if a mod moves it, it would be easier.

Carphone warehouse did this with my laptop order, unfortunately I didnt realise id loose the QUIDCO until it was too late.

Exact same thing happened to me last Friday (and mine was made worse as was doing a PAC transfer)

Anyway long story short I emailed them complaining about their sales staff tactics and they agreed to rebate me the £70 via £10 per month reduction on the tariff so I guess thats reasonable enough

At least if Voda make the deal with you it's likely to be more reliable than Quidco.

Ask for voda to put in writing whatever they have agreed too, as many people have posted stuff about mobile phone co staff who 'offer' something good, and then it never happens, and there's minimal comeback for the customer, even though the sales staff made a verbal contract - it's still a binding agreement though, and sales staff may either be dishonest, or just make errors.

The other thing to consider, is that if Quidco cash back is a lump sum, why should you have to wait several months to get it back? Aim to ensure that whatever the mobile co offers is fast, better than the original and really what you want.

I say 'better than the original;, because you are put through loads of additional extra hassle and effort, and don't get the deal that you contracted to - I think that is a reasonable expectation.

Why people are voting this cold, when ninjin is trying to help others is beyond me - ok, he realises it's likely to be in the wrong section, but has expressed that.

Otherwise, the cold voters haven't said or added a thing!

Orange do excatly same thing!!!

Thanks for the support. I don't care about cold or hot. We are all here to save money and as long as people get to learn that these sly companies are around, that's all that matters.

I've found Vodafone are willing to come to arrangements if you ask. I had a mobile cashback deal with them but the cashback company went under, rang Vodafone and explained the situation and they gave me the rest of the line rental at the post-cashback rate (£5 a month from memory for 300mins/200txts). They've been OK to me, Orange have the worst CS IMO and I've been on all 4 major networks a number of times.
