Vodafone Contract with CoolNewMobile ? – Must read for cashback !!

If you went for a 12 months FREE line rental (12 month contract) deal on Vodafone network with CoolNewMobile please read this for successful cashback claims. I’m leaving this info for everyone’s benefit after answering a number of PMs on this topic. This is applicable only for Vodafone contracts via CoolNewMobile (such as Sony Ericsson W810i, Nokia 6630 etc).

Updated 09/08/2007

Where a valid claim has not been received by us within [U 21 days of the required bill , which is the closing date for your claim. You will not be entitled to any part of the Cash Back offered. Cash back files are closed and cannot be reopened in these cases.

Vodafone have dispatched the FIRST bill nearly after a month of the contract start date unlike other networks such O2, Orange etc where, the first bill is sent out within days of connection. As a result, the original bill you should send for each stage of the cashback claim is different. The scheme below is compiled based on the details provided by a HUKD member.

http://i179.photobucket.com/albums/w302/bucketandbucket/vodacnm1.jpg

As seen above, the bill for First Claim is the 4th bill which shows 120 days of connection and so on. Make one like this, based on your Date of Connection and Date on your First bill , for successful cashback. All cashback applications must be submitted within 30 days from the corresponding bill date and by recorded delivery to:

MOBILE AFFILIATES LTD
Claims Dept.
PO Box 8895
Bingham
Nottingham, NG13 8XA

A copy of the claim form can be downloaded https://www.mobilemediasystems.co.uk/201cashbackclaim.pdf here .

Please post if you have any further queries. Good luck.

:whistling:
Before embarking on the coolnewmobile bandwagon may I suggest a gander at the comments compiled in the thread about their service.

:x Initially I thought I was being scammed, but when the 1st cheque came through, I thought I'd been vindicated.

However, doubt have crept back in  and I'm fairly sure I won't be seeing the cheques for my outstanding claims (yes there is more than one outstanding claim). :x

PhoneBoxDirect T&C's :

Instalment 1: - Send us the claim form and original monthly bill showing your name, address, mobile number and tariff you are connected on, that arrives showing you have been connected for 4 months. i.e. if you were connected on the 1st of January, you need to send in the bill that is dated around the 1st of May. This is 120 days (4 months) after connection. See porting below

Hi,

Edi's table at the top: I'm confused.

Isn't from 15th of March to 15th of April 32 days (if you count the days 15/03 and 15/04 as full days of connection), and remembering that March has 31 days, not 30.

So shouldn't it be 13th April, not 15th April, for 30 Days connection?

Sorry if I seem stupid

cheers

Beware with coolnewmobile. My contract has just finished with them and they did not pay the last 2 cashbacks (5 installments on a 12 month contract). I emailed them as I had not heard anything regarding my claim and they replied about 3 weeks later saying that it was too late! They also claimed that they had not recieved paperwork.

Interestingly, these offers only 'work' because they hope people will forget the last few cashback claims. However if you do remember then they don't make any money and they 'find' another way of not paying! As with all these offers there are a multitude of 'conditions' that you must meet in order to qualify.

Having said that, some do pay out without any problems. I'm not recommending you go with a particular company, however I found Dial-a-phone the easiest ever with cash back (had 2, 12 months free contracts with them in the past) and also Simply3G have paid out as promised without any hassle.

As the saying goes, you pays your money, you make your choice....

Robert.

It wouldnt really matter as your billing day remains the same every month. I hope that answers your query if not pls ask :)

edi,

thanks for your reply.

i'm sorry i'm still not sure- i thought that it did matter because with the example you did, there's an extra 2 days every month, which would eventually make you early/late and require you to send the same bill twice?!

Usually, networks dont count the number of days in each month. ie. if you receive a bill dated 20th June your subsequent bills will be on every 20th of the following months except in Feb when it may be postponed by a day or so.

For most of the people, this wouldnt matter but carefully check the duration of the first bill & the date issued to avoid any confusion. HTH :)

In a nutshell are you trying to say: "Don't listen to CNM's advice to send out the 4th/6th/etc bill - LOOK AT THE DATES AND WORK IT OUT FROM THERE" ?

This is because CoolNewMobile require the bills showing 120 days connection.

T-Mobile may send out the 1st bill straight away but it doesn't indicate that you've been connected for 30 days. The 2nd bill indicates a 30 day connection.

With Vodaphone you receive nothing UNTIL 30 days is up. So the first bill is the 30th day of connection.

And so on.

Makes sense *phew* I _think_ I've done it right. Fingers X'ed though :-/ I've _just_ sent them my first cashback claim on FIVE phones.

Yeah :)

Dont think CNM specifically say the bill number for each claim. Their eg. suggests that if you are connected on 1st Jan, you need to send the bill dated around 1st May (120 days after connection). So, draw conclusions based on ur connection date & bill dates

The Bill arriving after 10th Sep 2007 (28th Sep 2007) should be the one for the first claim.

CoolNewMobile now require bills to be send within 21 days of the claim date

Info updated in OP as well. 30 or 21 days depends on when you agreed the contract.

Are CNM allowed to change the condition of existing contracts like that?

Hi everyone, this is my 1st post, so please be gentle...

I signed up for a Vodafone contract with 12mth cashback through Phone Box Direct. But i could be in trouble because of this new 21 day rule  Please read on...

My conenction date was 20 June 2007.

I'm supposed to make my 1st cashback claim after 120 days, which is 18 Oct. The 21 day deadline would be on 8 Nov.

Yesterday i received my first bill, and it was dated 9 Aug.

Will that mean all my bills are going to be dated the 9th of the month?

Because if that's the case, i'll get a bill dated 9 Oct (which is before the 120 day mark). The next bill will be dated 9 Nov, but i'll get this around the 16 Nov which will be after the 21 day deadline.

Does this mean it's impossible for me to make a successful claim? :-(

Please can anyone help?

I'm not 100% certain (so get a 2nd opinion!) but I think if your bill dated 9th Oct (or thereabouts) covers the period of 1st - 31st Oct then I think thats the one you should send. (ie this bill would show you have been connected for 120 days)

Top spreadsheet been using since getting the contract 1 question do you abide by the current T+C's on the website which are new or the T+C's I saved when I ordered the phone in April?

I believe the ones available at the point of sale. I even printed them, when I bought my phone.

I have a 12 months contract with Vodafone, bought from PhoneBoxDirect.

First Bill: 15.08.2007

Is everything correct?

Could someone please explain where I would fine my 'connection date' on my bill. The bill below is my first bill. I would take it to be 4th July? The bill is dated 9th of August.

Thanks.

Can someone please have a look at these dates and offer some advice.
Connection Date 21 April 07.
Bill Dates 16 May, 15 Jun, 17 Jul & 17 Aug.
Between these dates it's only been 118 days since connection so I think that I have to wait for the 5th bill to arrive before I post off my 1st claim. (Unless the 4th bill is enough as it covers up to 31 Aug 07).
Can someone please confirm this.
Thanks in advance.
I'm going to try and call the customer services tomorrow and see if they'll "help".

Hi aphd163

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the slow response

It looks like my concerns could be over...because they've updated their T&Cs. The claim now needs to be submitted within 60 days (instead of 21) which should be plenty of time

Can anyone confirm if we can all use the latest T&Cs off their website? Or will they try to stitch us up and say we have to use the T&Cs that were in place when we took out the contract? I know on the claim form it does mention something about checking their website for the latest T&Cs before submitting a claim, but i thought this was more for their benefit, not for ours.

Hi, I'm interested in trying a 12mth free contract. But as you claim for the lst amount after the 12th month what happens if you actually want to cancel the contract, do they then not pay the last claim.
I'm sure you don't get something for nothing but if you can cancel after the 12 months and they still honour the cashback this would seem to good to be true.
Basically can you cancel ok after 12ths and still manage to get all cashbacks. Also anyone recommend what seems the best company for dealing with.
Sorry so many questions but always a bit warey of offers when you seem to get everything.
Many Thanks for help.

if just recieved a letter from coolnewmobile about my first claim it says i needed to send my orginal dispatch note, which i havent got? and i didnt know needed to be send (prob my fault for not reading t&c prob)
so i think i have lost all my cashback now?
anyone got any ideas ?
#39
Yeah I've just seen that on the claims form now, I think my connection date was May 1st so I'm sending in my latest bill for my first claim.

I'm slightly confused by the claim form though, my contract is a 12 month with 11 months free so the total claim amount is £385.00

Claim month is 4, but I'm unsure what to put as the other figure (the one which has "Full Cashback amount divided by 5" written next to it) is that calculated for the year or just for this claim ?

If anybody could give me a bit of advice on this one, I'd really appreciate it. :)
#40
£385/5 = £77 for each claim :)
