I think that you will be unlucky, all Spanish SIM Cards have to be registered for security reasons to the person that signs up for them, even PAYG ones.

This has been in place since the Madrid bombings.

I doubt that anybody would risk letting their SIM Card out to a stranger.

What is the purpose behind registering all sim cards?

Ask the Spanish Government, they imposed it.

It has been in force for some years now.

You have to register your passport or NIE Number and an address to the telephone network provider.

I should have a Vodafone spain xs8 nano sim you could borrow to activate your iPhone. Let me check tomorrow and I well get back to you. I last used it in May 2014 so it's still active.

Where are you located, I've got the Vodafone.es sim ?

thanks for the replies

after looking at the sim tray imei number and entering it online it says the phone is vodafone spain locked

but during activation when you press 'i' it shows the imei, enter it online it is showed as Orange France

so officially it is a Orange France locked phone which is also user id activation locked from apple....my cousin bought it from a private seller in doha

after a france orange sim now :(

No problem.

If you remove a sim from the iPhone even after its activated doesn't it have to connect to iTunes to check is it's sim locked to reactivate ? I have r-sim pro 9 which can activate iPhones, have you thought of using one of these ?
#12
i cant even activated it, it doesnt get pass the activation as it requires the correct sim, otherwise it gives a error.

the r-sim pro issur i have is that i think it only works on certain basebands and i have no idea what baseband the phone is on....dont want to buy the r-sim to just try it.

little stuck

and its a iphone 4, i think the r-sim doesnt support them :(
seems like it'll be used a paperweight
#14
Have you looked on eBay as they unlock iPhone 4 from France quite cheaply.
#15
yeah i have but thats only after the damn thing is activated nd booted into the OS lol

apple :(

I thought with imei unlocking. It's done through itunes and you have to insert a sim which your phone if locked to then iTunes unlocks it for you ? That is the way I've done it in the past anyway.
