Vodafone tried to dupe me!!

I'm in disbelief!

on a 30 day contract with voda £20 per month 600 mins unlimited texts.

on the back of the o2 deal posted yesterday I called and asked for a pac code as I wanted unlimited internet which o2 are offering for the same price.

The man said - hang on, youv'e been with us for a about 6 months so what about I just add it to your account for free? - I said Yep! - I'm happy with voda!

Get an email today and read the small print stating the start and end date of my new 12 MONTH CONTRACT?!?

Fuming - just called to get my pac code and definately going to go elsewhere! Only on a 30 day contract only to give them a try before I took out a new phone - even went to look at the HTC magic in the voda shop last weekend with a view to an 18 month contract!

Bang out of order!

no they didn't - the daft git agreed a contract without even asking for details.

Its such a none issue anyway - 7 day cancellation period, no problem, waste of a thread, JFK will be turning in his (temporary) grave.

If you have trouble getting free of Vodafone then I'd recommend their forum at http://forum.vodafone.co.uk as their eForum team are genuinely helpful and have some common sense.

They do pull this rubbish frequently though and I'm surprised they haven't managed to get themselves into more serious trouble, when upgrading I agreed a 12 month sim-only contract at a 50% for the year. I asked several times to make sure all the details were absolutely correct particularly the contract length and discount length knowing some people had been screwed over this way before. The confirmation came late after being chased up several times and the discount length was wrong as it would only be for 9 months instead of 12. I phoned them again but they refused to extend the discount length nor would they let me cancel as I was outwith the cooling off period - the fact it was their fault entirely didn't mean anything. Thankfully the eForum team sorted it out but this year I'll probably change to a 30 day contract that I can leave as I want although I don't think the other operators are much better. o2 managed to make a total mess of my account and due to their mistake I ended up with debt collectors after me, it took a long time for them to sort it out and they never apologised at all.
