Vodaphone Contract hell please help (long rant)

Can anyone please advise?
Bear with me on this one...
I tried to upgrade my phone with vodafone back in feb as my contract ended and T-Mobile phoned and offered me a great deal on an Android so I wanted to see if they could price match, they couldn't so I paid my final bill and told them I wanted to cancel so they agreed.
Phoned T-mobile got my android next day and gave away my moby and removed sim.

The next month I get a bill off voda for a phone I wasn't using so I e-mailed them to tell them I wasn't with them.
This has happened every month and I emailed every month and sent letters to no response until today when i got a letter from a debt recovery agency with 4 months of bills rolled into 1 bill saying pay this within 14 days or we will register you with a bad debt agency and your name will be mud forever!!!! or something like that.
I just phoned them telling them all the above and they said tough you have to pay it. Although they did take some money off as a good will gesture.
Can anyone please advise me on what to do next as I dont see why I should pay for a service that I haven't been using when I informed them many times I am with T-mobile now
Ps I have been with voda for like 10 years on contract and only had 1 phone off them in like 2002 if this means anything??? pps it was a nokia n-gage

How did you cancel ?

Did they send you a payg sim to move your number to? If they did, did you register it ?

Above giving you the leverage.

with vodafone, you have you put a letter to their cancellations department... or tell them to transfer your number to a PAYG sim, which in effect ends your contract.

But if you don't register the sim the old contract continues, which is where a lot of people go wrong. They throw the payg sim in a draw and forget about it. . .

Hi,

That breaches the trading rules with regards to selling items not belonging to you or your household (or never sought prior permission). Then again, she probably lives with you, so problem solved and no rule breach ?

All I'm stating is that if you want member help, be upfront and honest. Your public posts don't give you that credit.

However if I think you intend to continue to trade here, cut out the fabrication and stick to the facts.

OK, so did they say your acc would end in 30 days and they'd send you a final bill, or did they send you a payg sim. Or did you get your pac code so you could take your number to a new network ?

Then you were talking to upgrades, unless you told them you wanted to cancel you didn't.

Didn't you think it was odd when you didn't get a final bill and your phone kept working ??
