The little blue and red arrow next to the thermometer under the thread title. Just click whichever way you want to vote when you are signed in ;)

Thank You, I Thought That Was How It Was Done But I Wasn't Sure. :?

Glad it's not just me. Would be nice if someone in the know set up a help section with some basic instructions about how to get going and stuff. Might lead to less annoyance for those of you who know what your'e doing????

If you click on the grey section in between, it will register a "Lukewarm" vote.

There's lots of mods in this thread, welcoming a new mod. The mods all have helpful stuff that you can click onto - either in their posts or in their signatures that you can reach by clicking on the avatar and then public profile.

Thanks, Sophie, for asking that question. Me and my dog (new members) have taken ages to work that out. Maybe as has been suggested, a little "welcome to new members info page" would be a help. Also, what is "flint", "pilot light", matchstick", etc?

It is related to how many posts you have made on the site. Newbies start off as "Flint", and the highest at the moment is a "Solar Flare" at 1000 posts.

Also when you find someone is helpful, you click on the scales at the left of their name and click them and add to their reputation. ;-)
