  Security kiss had a six month free trial on here, expired now, but I find it reliable for tv. Only used it three or four times but each time the speed was acceptable on both iPad and pc

  its all about privacy my dear.....while a vpn of this sort wont stop vengeful adversarys coming after you it puts another barrier there plus its good for circumventing geo-lock when you are in another country like the op wants it for

  I use HMA, it's good. Used to connect in less than a second but now it takes up to a minute sometimes which is pretty annoying. Not sure if that's just my laptop or something their end. Either way, I'd still recommend it, lots of locations to choose from on their service.

  Chandelier is awesome, but i wouldnt recommend them. for 900 quid it's worth it (it's huge!) but was a huge headache with loads of issues!!!
  
  Does anyone here VPNs then, just for generally surfing. or is it pointless unless you want to use netflix, such as the OP

  According to this months PCPro magazine (has article on snooping evasion) hidemyass handed over details about a user to the authorities.
  
  They mentioned signing up with a company that is in a country that does not require logs to be stored.
  (there were mentions but I have forgotten them)

  If you want to keep your browsing habits anonymous, you can't get much better than tor browser. Obviously this isn't a solution to what you're after, just thought I'd bring it up...

  Is there a site or forum i can read up on all this external access stuff and see if its something i might want. i.e. what's so good about usa netflix ( I tried ours and it was carp). What is available out there for free? and so on and so forth. :)

  I tried tor browser for a couple of hours and literally all I came across was drugs and child porn and i'm not interested in ether . I did come across a picture of Britney Spears fanny which is always nice to see but seriously that tor browser is full of nonces , just aint worth using.

  Get a VPS and set up a VPN on it, it should be a lot cheaper.
