To all who missed out on the Vulcan effect last year. Get your wonga out and please pledge before it's to late. She's now in with a real chance of getting into the air once more. As previous member said, any amount will help boost the fund. Last time I looked it was on £982,924. @ 21:35 pm Friday. http://www.vulcantothesky.org/default.asp

Already bookings for 20 or so airshows for 2009 season. So we'll all be in with a chance of seeing her.

Yes sure, If you visit the vulcan to the sky web site all the info is there and right up to the minute on the current fund raising total. It's looking good for her.

I would also love to see the SR-71 fly again, crazy to think she's an old lady of 44 now. I saw her at RAF Fairford back in 1989. Still has to be the greatest show of all time for me. Followed close behind by the Vulcan at Farnborough last year. Hopefully also showing at Faiford this year....Fingers crossed.

Be nice to see it again...

I would like to think so, she looks in good shape. Except I do seem to remember reading somewhere a few years ago there was talk in the U.S of using one or some for further research purposes.

All I remember is the sound and actually feeling the heat from those huge burners. It was almost eerie and a sort of dangerous feeling because it was so different to anything else we saw on the day.

I'm sure we will, we're approaching the £1M, people get pledging NOW. Then pick a date to see her.

Sorry to say that's another Vulcan (XM603) and sadly already on the way out. XH558 is currently sleeping in her hanger at Bruntingthorpe. Last I heard, the Woodford Vulcan is going to be used for the all important spares for XH558. That's if all goes well during the next 18 hours of fund raising. Still good to see, and even better in the air where she belongs.

Do they accept paypal?

Oh right, he told me it was the one.

Oh well, he had a good look.

I don't think they take Paypal, best thing to do is click on my link and then click on the donate 'your Vulcan needs you' top left.
Select either once only pledge or a monthly pledge. Remember this is an Honesty pledge at this point. If and when the £1M is reached the trust will then I'm sure set up various ways we can pay our dues. Cheers to you.

No worries, the main thing is he mentioned it and it gets people thinking, can only help. Here we are talking about an important piece of our aviation history on what I'm sure will be a very very historic day. Cheers.

RAF bombing run on London using Avro Vulcan

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXFEDIpJOKc

Kick ass. If anyone can find a real bombing run with a Avro Vulcan, PM me.

Meh they only used blue Steel nuclear missiles, they didn't go with the AGM-48 Skybolts.

Yep they sure were. Well worth it though, she'll create a lot of interest and enjoyment for people who see her this year. Just a tad more interesting than watching the begging bankers on the telly every night. That is how you spell bankers isn't it?

I'm sure there are more worthy causes than a plane, but then i used to see the Vulcan every day when i was a kid anyway so seen my fair share
