My monthly invoice to ebay has just come up as £64.38. I have no idea how it has reached this amount, i've made plenty of listing but the rarely exceed 20p occasionally 40p. I haven't got this money to spend. Would there be a reason it's so high, maybe a requested refund ?

What have you sold? Any high value items?
Don't forget, listing fees, final value fees are all included...
#2
Login to your ebay account and have a look at the invoice... it might give you breakdown?
#3
Don't think so buddy - you can see the breakdown, go to my account and then look at the invoice thing.
Have you sold some high value items? as final value fees go on there too :)

I have sold quite a lot of high value items but £65 is ridiculous. Didn't realise they charged you afterwards. What % of the final sale do they take ?

Is that with fvf's included?
Edit - doesn't take much to add up on there! I always try to sell here first!

On average 10%

I can't believe you didn't know that they charge you when you sell an item:?
#7
its about 10% i think
#8
It depends on the item and the price you sold it at.
Think the %age changes depending on the value. eg. 10% on the first £100, then 5% on anything over.

Thats just an example! Not the real percentages!
#9
yep they take 10% of all sales (i found this extortionate when i found out!)
Less if you do buy it now with electrical items (5%+ still though)

I've never used ebay before recently, and thought it was just the selling fee's. Not using ebay again, will never make any money if they take a 10% share everytime. I thought the selling fee's were bad !
#11
If you click on the 'Account' Tab next to 'Activity' and 'Messages' then click on Fees you can see the breakdown of all transactions along with Final Value Fees.

For future reference you might want to look at the Ebay Fees section under 'Shortcuts' on the 'My Ebay' page.

It is surprising how they add up.

Have you made a loss yet?

I thought I had made a profit overall , not sure how this leaves it.

Better to sell here, ebay fees plus paypal fees are steep

Moving house soon, wonder if I can 'evade' these fee's, and just use another card.

But the only information they have on me is my address. If I move, can't see they'll bother going to the trouble of tracking me down.

...Will they ?

A debt a debt, they'll hound you I would guess
#19
If they went after Paddy_o_furniture for £5, I think they'll go after you for £65

oh and they'll close your ebay account for sure. If you have good feedback built up you'll have to start over with a new account..

Even if they don't manage to track you down they will ruin your credit rating. You used the service so just pay for it and think of it as an expensive lesson in the importance of reading T&C's

YES THEY WILL... i got scammed for £30 on fleabay so they put my account into negative £. I then refused to pay on principle.. They got a debt recovery agency based in Leeds after me. They sent letters threatening court and they kept phoning and texting.. In the end i caved in but vowed NEVER to use Ebay or Paypal again.
#22
Because you didn't read their T+ C's regarding their charges, your answer is to not pay, good god,i can't believe some people.

I wouldn't trust you in the FS forum here either after a statement like that.

 My feedbacks all good on the FS forum. Besides the point. The fee's are taking the ... £65 almost for selling 25 items or so.

For them to be taking £65, you must have made sold the items for a total of approx £650 - not bad for 25 items or so :whistling:

Exactly what I was about to say. No excuses for not paying, since you've obviously had at least £600 from sales.

Did the people that bought the items off you pay into your PayPal account? If yes then eBay have got you by the b**ls because they own PayPal and if you've given them Credit Card/Bank details I guess they'd come after you through them and debit your account for the sum of £65 + any additional fees their debt recovery agency slap on you!!

If a big chunk of it isn't profit you spent to much buying it, can't blame ebay for that

When you list an item it says at the bottom something along the lines of
"If you item sells for X price you will be charged a final value fee of £xx.xx"

It's right before you hit submit on the listing. Not sure how you could miss it tbh...

Also you thought it was extortionate that they charged you "20p occasionally 40p" to list to an audience of millions??!
