WARNING - ABBEY CUSTOMERS - BOGUS EMAIL

Just received this email, I'm not even an Abbey customer. The link takes you to a website called http://www.nwara.com, haven't clicked on it myself.

Dear Abbey customer,

During our regularly scheduled account maintenance and verification procedures, we have detected a slight error in your billing information.

This might be due to either of the following reasons:

1. A recent change in your personal information (i.e.change of address).
2. Submiting invalid information during the initial sign up process.
3. An inability to accurately verify your selected option of payment due to an internal error within our processors.

Please update and verify your information by clicking the link below:

https://abbeynational.co.uk/CentralLogonWeb/Logon

If your account information is not updated within 48 hours then your ability to access your account will become restricted.

Thank you

The Abbey Bank Group

I get these all the time, from all sorts of different banks.

They dont care that you are not an Abbey customer, they just send them out in bulk hoping they do hit SOME Abbey customers by chance.

Just delete it, not even worth reporting to Abbey.

lol same here half of them i dont even bank with, to tell just go to the link they provide and none of the other links on the actual bogus page work lol

Report it as a phishing scam - and report it to Abbey

If no- one reports it the banks cant shut these places down

I getbetween 3 and 5 a week, and to be honest if they didnt send me ones for banks I dont bank with I probaby would have logged in with them. If I didnt notice it wasnt the actual abbey websites url - lol

I ALWAYS REPORT THEM AS SOME PEOPLE MAY THINK THEY ARE REAL AND GIVE OUT THEIR DETAILS.
HOPEFULY IF THEY ARE REPORTED ENOUGH THEN THEY CAN FIND THE SCUM WHO PREY ON VUNERABLE PEOPLE. :x
