NEW ID STUDIOS - BAD HAIRCUTS, AWFUL PICTURES, TAKEN MONEY AND NOT EVEN SENT PICS BUT REFUSE TO REFUND!

DIABOLICAL PLACE!

The haircuts by so called professionals could have been done by kindergarden kids they were so awful, I grew mine especially for weeks only to have it cropped to nothing and clumps taken out! My 3 friends were nearly in tears with their poor haircuts.
The makeup was caked on and then they tried to flog us £200 quids worth of cheap stuff you could buy for a £1!

The photoshoot was a nightmare we had a certain amount of time and that was it, we never got to wear all our outfits and she didn't ask any of us how we would want to pose.
Pictures even had heads cut off, long pics were done when only the tops were meant to be done so we had pictures done in jeans!

We were kept hanging around all told for 7 hours whilst they blasted music out and left us sat on uncomfortable benches. The noise was so bad we asked them to turn it down but they refused and said we could go and stand outside!!!
After around 6 hours we had to keep asking how much longer it would be and we were told it was our fault for having so many pictures taken!

She then got annoyed with us when trying to choose out of 100 pics and told us to hurry up as it was getting late and she wanted to go! She was totally rude when wanting us to spend £70 on EACH PIC!

We did buy some but she got our order wrong and didn't send most of the pics my mate ordered and are refusing to refund us!

They didn't photoshop the ones we did buy as promised and we had to wait weeks for them to arrive only to find they hadn't done all the work and had only retouched one of the 5 pics we asked for so now we have to reorder again and wait another few weeks and then they can't get anything right!

They were so quick to take our money and have not produced anything professional, infact many of the pics have a background of wood chip wallpaper which they promised would be removed but it wasn't- how unprofessional.

So we have ordered pics that they say would be made better looking but they haven't done so and won't refund us even though half of the pics were never even sent to us!!!

TRADING STANDARDS HAVE BEEN INFORMED AND I HAVE ALSO ASKED WEST MIDLANDS POLICE FOR ADVICE ON THEM TAKING OUR MONEY AND NOT GIVING US OUR PICTURES AND NOW ARE NOT EVEN BOTHERING TO REPLY AT ALL!!!

Does anyone have any further advice apart from putting bad reviews on even more sites so they don't get to rip anyone else off!!!

From a quick skim looks like someone has been scammed by another fake modelling/photo agency thing.

I actually lied - I did skim read it, had no clue what the rant was about and got bored. I think you could be right, but seems like OP is potential customer from hell anyway.

A letter to head office. If you can prove you've got stuff in writing. Regardless of if the company is shocking all the way up the ranks. Just send head office a letter.

Also, who's your local newspaper? Give them a ring, they'd love a story like that.

Of course, its just like venture with the hard sell.

Give all studios a bad name.

Wow too embarassed to show pics before being touched up!
Actually VB1 we didn't complain until they didn't send half the pics and the others not touched up, so no not the customers from hell we were very patient considering!
They asked us what we wanted and I said a refund for the pics we didn't get and the ones not touched up, no mention of what we paid to go there in the first place or cost of having hair done again to try make it decent.
We have complained to head office and the branch and they did say we could have our hair cut again (no thanks it was awful first time) and they did say they would retouch up but didn't and won't even give my mate her dosh back for the pics they didn't send her!
Left it with Consumer Direct now and will await their advice............... Dont need advice from name callers who know nothing!! No wonder people don't bother on here.

I paid for the 4 of us to go, then I paid £170 for mine and mates pics. Other mate paid £70 for her pics in cash. Not fair to expect my bank to repay us really.

Just a comment from me really.

My GF and a friend of her went to ID Studios in Birmingham 2 weeks ago for the "Makeover and Photos" or whatever it was called after a hard sell at her local university. Having read forums in the past etc I was very, very dubious about it all - I even doubted the building would be there when they turned up.

However - nothing but good reports from them. They were looked after all afternoon, coffee/teas etc. My GF friend decided she didn't like how her hair was styled (matter of choice) so they re-did it for her again afterwards. They had pictures taken with all the outfits they had brought along with them, 4 in total, and were then given time to choose the 1 photo they had with the package.

The only bad side is that she missed the train she was aiming for on the way back BECAUSE they took so long with them and helping them out. They were also charging £50 per extra photo, although rang before the day to sell an amazing deal if she agreed before the day of 2 photos for £50.

I know everyone has different experiences of placing etc, but just thought I'd post another side of things as I was expecting it to be awful - but ended up a nice day out for them! :-)

Fair play brah - you might wanna post a summary cos it was a bit long to read though. Have you considered "sending the boys round"??

We've used these three times .... daughter and I, daughter and all her mates, and daughter and a couple of uni mates, and although the pics are really pricey, we've always been really well looked after and had a great day X) First time we went to Manchester, 2nd time London and 3rd was Cardiff. They do try the hard sell and it's hard to say no when you can see how fabulous you look and want all the pics, but if you are savvy you can usually get a reasonable deal out of them - we got them to put everyone's pics on a cd when we took 8 of them to London and as the girls had already been warned about the costs and came prepared, we split the cost between us all and it worked out much better value.

very weird reply - thats why banks have card protection - so if you were conned from anywhere, you wouldnt claim "because its not fair" oO

If you spilled paint on your carpet - you wouldnt claim on your insurance "because its not fair on them" etc

Hi, a friend and I had a makeover day with them at the Westfields, London studio in September. Had a great day and were really pleased with how it went. Until now. I'm currently threatening them with Trading Standards as we are still paying for our prints....which almost 5 months later we have not received even though we were told we'd get them within 8 weeks. I have contacted them several times to no avail so I am going to go through Trading Standards if nothing is done. It was a once in a lifetime thing for us and we are extremely disappointed. But I refuse to give up until something is done!!

was happy with the shoot in cardiff, but HATED the hard sell, refused to pay for any pics, as I only wanted the free one, 7 weeks later I am still waiting for my refundable "show up fee", and the photo. A great experience, but no way am I paying £975 for 13 photos!!!

I've had a very bad experience with New ID studios as well - very unfriendly and inflexible staff, dubious and extremely annoying sales strategies, haven't been able to view my photos, haven't received my deposit back after 17 days, their prices are ridiculous considering their haircuts are nothing special at all.. and these are just my main points! I wrote a 2 page letter of complaint to them - to which I received no response whatsoever. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I attended a 'Girls Day Out' in Glasgow and was told we only had to pay £60 for 2 people for the full makeover day. I bought this as present for my mum and sisters and was told all I have to do is call up and book my date. When I did call up they then told me I have to pay ANOTHER deposit of £25 each person to secure a date. I would have been happy to leave credit card details and payment to come out if I dont show up or even lose my voucher, but no, they want the full payment. When I call to complain I just get someone with attitude telling me 'well I should have read the terms and conditions'...nice!

Indeed that is accurate.

Why did you not read the terms & conditions?

These offers/establishments are notorious for this kind of practice.

Only go to places following recommendations from (good) friends.

OMG. Just had a makeover in cardiff yesterday with the same company and it was bloody awful. My poor sisters hair was hacked at and the girl who cut it could not even straighten hair. Im a pro hairdresser with my own salon but they would not let me try sort her hair out because of health and safety. We had to do it in the toilet! My mothers make up was so awful even the photographer couldn't make it look good with the lights. Mine, my sister in law and mothers hair was a disaster and we had to sort it out ourselves. The hairdressers were straight out of collage and took over 3 hours to do our hair.
This is just the start of the problems we are having with the company, now we are going through trading standards as we spent nearly a grand on retouched photos on cd, got them home and they haven't been re touched....
Did you have any luck with trading standards yet?

O...as we spent nearly a grand on retouched photos on cd...

Why on earth did you pay for something that was clearly wrong by your account? Did you ask to speak to a Manager, or to the owner, at the time?

If you are a "pro hairdresser" why did you not cut your sister's hair in advance of going to the venue?

Wish I had "nearly a grand" to spend on "retouched photos"!

I am still waiting for my deposit after 3 months. I was given this as a gift by my innocent husband. The show up deposit was £25. I stedfastly refused any pictures. Stuck to my ground and ended up rather annoying the hard seller- such as ****. He said I had to pay £5 from my deposit for the postage for 3 pictures....That would be in the package I would have thought. It says nowehre in their T&C that they will charge sepearetly for the posatage. It was overall a very annoying experince. We must report this company. How to go about it?

They did not give us any terms and condition until we had paid our money and sold it to us. It wasn't until we were leaving and they were giving us a flyer that had T&CS. That is why!

Thanks.

Were the terms referred to in any documentation you had to complete &/or sign prior to payment?

Or were they mentioned on any display in the location where you were agreed to the provision of the services, or over the telephone when you booked?

If not, then they are not enforceable & you should have walked out, &/or asked for a refund of your initial payment.

I have shot here myself on many occasions and the cd they give you on the day is the raw images with no retouching. The retouched cd then gets delivered to a nominated address. As that is what happened with myself

i had a photo shoot at the westend london studios. Well what a day, got to the studios and no-one spoke or introduced themselves for 15 minutes, and when they did they were extremely rude, i do not very welcome at tall and as of my young age (17) i felt very unhappy and didnt want to carry on with the day, but with an open mind I carried on. When having my hair washed i felt like she was throwing me around like a rag doll. after she finally finished my hair i was not happy with the style, shape or cut, it wasnt what i wanted at all.

i then went do stairs with my boyfriend to be introduced to the make- up artist who was lovely, she shouldnt of been in the place, she was to good for them! my make-up turned out brilliant i loved it.

the third step of my package was to have my photos done, again the women who took my photos was lovely she made me feel at home and very welcome. i felt my confidence grow as she took more and more photos But from then on it we down hill again the women that was in the viewing room was very pushly about me buying a large amount of photos, with a low income i felt very pushed into buying more than i wanted.

….. okay so that might not have seemed that bad but once the day was over it was like hell, i was informed that my photos would be delieved within 4-5 weeks once that date came still no photos, i then emailed them ask what was going on. they said that they were on there way, i left it for a week and still no sign, i then emailed again and they said that they are sending some more, then four weeks later they didnt come i then started to phone them they said that they are in oxford 50 miles a way from my home town! They then said that they would send them again. final 6 weeks late they got here, but not for at least four weeks after we were still getting the same photos through the post, so now have about about 6 copies of the same photos! never do it again!

Please note, the Glasgow studios have gone into administration they are reopening under a different franchise and anyone who had photos taken in the last 3 months is unlikely to receive them, I have had to raise a case with my credit card company to claim my money back!!?

my sister bought me a photoshoot as a christmas present as she knew I wanted to do some modeling and thought it was a brilliant idea to get a portpholio together and after booking my shoot in JANUARY with the new ID studios, and their bristol branch being shut down so having to set up arrangements to go to their cardiff studio, my shoot is finally been re-booked for this weekend 10 MONTHS LATER. The new ID studios has rang me up and taken a deposit off of me for my photos, little did I know they have been bought out my another company (no wonder why after reading this) so I have been conned into giving "someone" about £150 which I cannot get refunded as I dont know who I gave this to. I then managed to get in touch to the company who have taken over new ID studios who actually have me booked in who has upgraded me to having extra picture etc for the inconvenience, the company who taken over new ID studios seem brilliant and I cant wait for my shoot this weekend. If anyone wants to have a photoshoot, the new ID studios website is still running BUT DO NOT BOOK A SHOOT OR ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEIR AS I GIVEN SOMEONE MONEY I CANT GET BACK, i dont know who took my money, it might be someone who has just hacked their website i dont know but all I know is someone rang me up saying they was this company and took my money :/
