I have a Gmail notifier that pops up in the corner of my desktop but I don't know if you can get the same for Hotmail.

Google search brings up this.

Does sound like what I want but I suppose there's a risk with it being an outside agency so to speak and them having access to your email also. I thought perhaps I could do it through hotmail itself and I was missing something. Thanks for your help guys :thumbsup:

honestly, it cant be simpler than windows live messenger. As soon as you recieve email it tells you and you click the popup to open your inbox. The bit about appear offline is just so that your friends don't send you instant messages, but you can play with that later :)

I don't think it's much different from having your details already logged into your browser. I would think it's all just opened in a way similar to Outlook or Thunderbird rather than going through some third party server.

On my Gmail notifier a little popup comes up in the bottom corner with the title of the email that you can click and it opens the browser. Just do a bit of searching and make sure that the software is legit first.
