Got an email from Amazon a week or so ago saying that the charger for the phone was potentially dangerous. Can't find the charger but have been using other micro usb chargers anyway. Phone was on charge yesterday and had a really bad electrical burning smell coming from it so have unplugged and am returning it. Have noticed that Amazon have removed pretty much every Cubot phone listing, maybe because of the charger but either way I'd be very wary of these phones.

Complain and receive a £10 credit to your account too buy a replacement but as you say we all have other facilities available. I did that after receiving the same e-mail before Christmas. Nice cheap 2nd phone
Yeah I'm not too worried about a replacement charger, more the fact that the actual phone started to smell like it would catch fire even without their charger. Just thought I'd warm people in case there's something wrong with these.
i would advise against all Cubot phones. i got one from Amazon... i ignored all the bad review... phone came and couldnt use the internet unless connected to my wifi. recently got an email from Amazon telling me to throw away the charger as they seemed to be catching fire by themselves!!!!! trust me... this company's phones are rubbish! looks really can be decieving!
This is about Cubot X9 and not any other or all Cubot phones. Your generic allegations seem to have no proof at all. If only you could show us the so-called 'throw away the charger' email from amazon :D
I have been a member of this site for many years and really have no reason to lie. I didn't think i would have any of their emails in my inbox... but i remembered that i replied to one... so was able to get one of their many emails. Please don't try and call me out on here... you will not look too smart!!!

Subject:Important Product Safety Notification Regarding Your Amazon.co.uk Order 204-8800319-2540366
We e-mailed you recently to advise you that the plug provided with your Unlocked Cubot P6 5.0 inch 3G Smartphone Android 4.2 OS MTK6572W Dual Core 4GB ROM Dual SIM Dual Standby SIM-Free 3G android mobile phone 1.2GHZ WIFI GPS Bluetooth 8.0MP+5.0MP Camera Ebook Gmail Phablet (White) which you bought in order #204-8800319-2540366, might be unsafe and that you should stop using it.
The suggestion in the previous e-mail that you should contact the Seller didn't provide clear instructions of how to do so and we apologise for any confusion this has caused. There's no need for you to contact your Seller directly, instead we've made available a £10 credit to your Amazon.co.uk account to cover the cost of ordering a replacement adaptor. Just reply to this e-mail to let us know that you'd like the credit and we'll apply it to your account within 2 business days.
The email you have shown has nothing to do with the charger as you had mentioned before. All it says it about the 'plug provided'. No where does it say that the Cubot phones are rubbish. Don't exaggerate things. You can take the credit to be smart if you cannot distinguish among a plug, a charger or a mobile phone!
You silly little man! The only plug that a mobile phone comes with is a charger.... may i suggest you also see the post on HUKD where another person had the same issue... i noticed someone posted it for you... but u didn't reply!!

Peterborough123 I would advise you to mind your words and the language you use to address people you don't know.

The word plug as used in mobile phone box contents is generally the plug convertor from 2 pin to UK 3 pin. The phone battery charger is always mentioned as a charger.

No, I don't work for Cubot but I have an objective mind and try to see things without having a biased opinion.
lol pathetic
you were disgustingly condescending and basically called peter a liar
i suggest YOU look at how you present yourself to others

anyway backfire, its you that looked like the idiot

This is what you say when you lose an argument!
why not just call my momma fat and be done with it

No brilly, I don't use your style.

Thanks for cheering me up guys.
Your argument is hilarious :)

I wouldn't personally touch any of these phones.

Remember people you always get what you pay for!
