It was horrible. Horrible I tell you!
I've just managed to get away from it.
A glass of wine, and I'll be OK.... just need to get the breathing back in order.

To anyone who is even thinking of watching Seven Pounds, don't do it!

Even if you were duped, as I was, by thinking that because Sky have it on Anytime it must be semi decent, it isn't...... it's terrible.

I should have known when I found out Will Smith was in it. I thought it would get better. I thought "just another five minutes" but no, it was a downward spiral.

Just say NO!

Powerful film, intense and not easy watching. Very sad.
I found it an interesting and well made film, with some flaws.

If you think that was bad, i watch The Core last night, that was terrible.
#17
I think it was Will Smith's attempt to get an Oscar . 21 grams is better .

Thought it was a good, gripping film. Dramatic ending. Not his best, a few flaws in the plot, but worth watching

:x I liked the road. Good acting again, unexpected twists, a the ending was a tad predictible. It was like a fallout 3 movie, enjoyed it although it seems i'm in the minority on that one

That's exactly what it was trying to be.

Unfortunately it just doesn't quite manage it. Lots of nods to ideas that have been done better elsewhere.

one of the slowest films in history, maybe i'm just more in tune to faster paced films but I thought it was utter tosh, apparently the book is meant to be good though

I had tears in my eyes the 2nd time of watching, think it's a great film

Plenty of films are about redemption and atoning for sins and mistakes.

This just felt kinda simplistic, focusing too much on the mystery of why he's doing it and not the journey he goes on.

It's not a bad film and as begging letters to the academy go it's not bad from Smith (although Dawson and Harrelson are generally good).

It just felt a little superficial.

I was hoping for something a bit more like the name of two or three films I could put on my rental list.
I know there are plenty of films dealing with these issues. They are themes that the Greeks, Shakespeare and many others have explored However in terms of cinema story telling the film used what I thought was a clever mechanism to tell the story and keep me if not others interested. This is what I liked about it and allowed me to forgive the many flaws. If other films have done this better and I have missed them I would be interested.

Exactly!
Terrible film trying it's hardest to tug at heartstrings, by resorting to cliche after cliche after cliche.....

If I had the time, I'd put a Guillermo del Toro on now, just to restore my faith in modern day film making!

Well I didn't watch any in the end, had an early night!

However it would be a toss up between Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone.

agree, terrible film!

Pan's Labyrinth is an exceptional piece of work and yes would put this film (and many others I have enjoyed) to shame. Have not seen The Devil's Backbone so will have to catchup with that one.

"The Orphanage" is another great Del Toro film.

Pretty good box set HERE

Although Cronos is probably my least favourite.
