Got a toshiba laptop that ran out of warranty dec 08, the hard disk was replaced may last year, and i thought it would have at least 12 months warranty on it.

Rang them up and it only had 3 months, so i have asked them about the EU Law that covers electrical items for 2 years.

They have now told me they have to go back to the Head Office and speak to their legal department.

So will wait to see what happens..............

My laptop recently broke (the hinge for screen came loose and wouldnt close) It was still under warrenty but they said I was not covered for accidental damage, I argued for over an hour about it, they finally agreed to fix the laptop, but it wasnt fixed in the 6 week time frame so was entitled to new one and I was told I could pick a new laptop for £649 or £515 cheque, so you should really just keep on at them

my mother in law bought a tv and it has been 'replaced' by comet 6 times - the last one went back and they say that they will replace again, dont really want a replacement now as she bought original one 12 months and 3 weeks ago but they said that the guarantee had run out, can they say that when the last one was replaced only two months ago surely there would be a new warranty on the last one she was given (she took extended cover- so they say they are replacing under the extended cover) not sure how I stand - she has to wait for a letter that writes off the one that has gone in now and then go and get another one, they will not even give her a credit voucher
