Was bought a bottle of Burberry Touch. How do I tell if it's real or fake?

Hiya,
I was bought a bottle of Burberry touch for christmas. The person who bought it usually buys from car boot sales for gifts but this year seems to have bought from shops instead. How do I tell if this is a genuine box of Burberry? I'm planning to ebay it as I can't wear perfume.

Many thanks in advance for any help.

Lots of useful website here Midjet.

A really easy way to tell is to spray it and see how long it lasts. Parfum lasts something like 6-8 hours and toilette is 4-6 (something like that)... if it only lasts 2, it'll be fake! Try it on someone else if you can't use it, but that's always a good indication. Otherwise, check for batch codes and also the majority of fakes (that I've seen abroad etc) come in plan bottles rather than the "official" bottle, but these tend to be the very "fake" fakes!

^^ I would assume if the op is selling it on ebay they are not going to open it and use it.

It might be cheaper to sell it on here.

My grandma bought me some perfume for christmas and I can't wear it either.

I will probably give it to my step-mum for her birthday at the end of the month.

I guess you have sensitive skin like me x x

A spray isn't going to make a difference, and whether or not it's in plastic wrapping is neither here nor there to an ebay buyer.

It cannot be sold on here if there is any doubt regarding authenticity

Either ask the person where it came from or follow the eBay guide that bb posted....if it's not sealed then it will be fake

It's still sealed in the cellophane, I'm not going to sell it on here. It looks real to me, but I don't know about these things. I was looking at one of the links from the first post and it says about the cellophane quality and box thickness etc, they all seem very good quality. The barcode looks normal, there's some codes on the bottom too that look like a manufacturers code. There's also the line "This article may be sold only by burberry frangrances authorized dealers". Not sure if this adds to the authenticity?!

I'm not going to open it as it may make a few pound more on ebay. After looking at it more and looking at the guides, it does look like the genuine thing.

I suffer from migraines and wearing perfume triggers them :( I have to be careful in the summer, the one day I'd opened the front door and was talking to someone on the doorstep for 5 minutes. Behind them the sun was reflecting off a window, I didn't take any notice of it, and when I shut the door it'd triggered a migraine! I've got prescription sunglasses and wear them if the sun's bad, even in the winter lol.

My bf is having a lot of headaches at the moment due to being in a car accident just before christmas :(

Omg, has he had any brain scans? My friend was in a car accident and he had bleeding on the brain. He's fine now and back at work, but it knocked him about for about 4-5 months.

The biggest giveaway for me would probably be what it's cost (if genuine) and would it be usual for this person to spend that amount on your gift.

That's why I'm wondering as like I said in my OP, she usually buys gifts from boots sales, but this year her brother's been really ill and I don't know if she's actually bought the gifts or given her daughter the money to buy them. My kids received a box of thorntons christmas chocs and cadbury's biscuits which she wouldn't normally buy. She'd buy them a little cheap toy or something from a car boot sale.

I think it might be time for him to go back to the doc's.

I think he had all the scans on the day of the accident.

Good luck with the sale x x

Yeah I think he should deffo go back and have more scans. My friend was checked after the accident and luckily worked at the NHS. He went back to work about a week after and his boss said he looked really ill and called through for an immediate scan, which then showed up the damage caused.

If the doctor tries to fob him off, you've got to tell him to push for the scan, and say he wants a second opinion. Good luck and I hope he's ok x x x

Do perfume boxes usually have Arabic writing (above the barcode) on them?

Maybe try and go to Boots or somewhere that sells this and have a quick look at the box to see if it matches?
