well its wrong if thats what you did.

If it were me I would wash it as feathers (birds dont have wool) and shake it until dry (works for ducks!)

You wouldnt put a duck it the dryer would you!?:giggle:

Right, take it to the wishy washy to get dried. Put it in the drier on low heat.
Then put 6-8 ping pong balls in. It will take a good 3 hours to dry.
Every 10 minutes, take it out and shake it.Make sure you put the ping pong balls on the top when you start drying again.
The ping pong balls bash on the sides and make the feathers loose.
Be prepared for a long wait.Take a mag to read.
Then when you get home, put it on the line to air.
You might need lots of caffine.

Thanks for the info susan, but didnt have that time to spare, so just bunged it my dryer and realised early it seems flat because its the 4.5 tog not the 10.5 one  but will remember your advice for next time

Whenever i have tumbled anything with down or feathers, i chuck in a three tennis balls (new ones kept specially for the purpose) 'Cos they're slightly rough, they catch the fabric and agitate the feathers. For a duvet though, i would use the dryers in the laundrette. bit dearer than your domestic dryer, but still way cheaper than having it done in the dry-cleaners
