Ok, so my washing machine seems to be on it's last legs. It's making the most horrendous noise on spin. I guess the bearings have gone or something like that. Anyway I was wondering if anyone out there had a washer drier and could advise me if they are any good or not.... I don't have space for both so I either continue draping wet stuff around everywhere or get a two in one job.

Thats not good. I thought perhaps if one went wrong then the other would too. A dryer would make stuff so much easier for me but I just don't have room.

I know and it bugs me every time i think about it. Im not saying it'll happen to you and if one works without the other its still like if seperates break down. I have a full size tumble dryer that takes up a whole heap of room in the kitchen in winter and then gets stuffed into the back of the hallway cupboard round this time. I actually have the same dilemma because my washer is on its way out and still think i'd be better off with a combined :)

they arent very good...we used to have one and the dyrer on it was rubish.....got a separate tumble dyer and its much better....

In an Ideal world I would.....If only I could get a whole new kitchen and squeeze one in lol
I've only head bad things but that was when I was first buying after moving in here. Didn't know if they may have got better...perhaps not!

i have one, it leaves the clothes very very creased even after halving the washed load for drying, i wish i could have seperates but dont have the room :-( - ironing is a must for pretty much everything

I would love to turn the hallway cupboard into a laundry room, its next to the downstairs loo so think its possible, piping etc, just wish I had the pennies, there's loads of wasted space in there, oh well shall just have to stay in my lottery winning dreams :)

Nifty little gadget. Probably just stick with the radiators though.

The problem is that the drum size is so small compared with a tumble drier, so you have to take half of the clothes out to dry them. They always used to seem very creased and often shrunk things as it was hotter than a standard tumble drier, very glad to see the back of mine!!

I didn't have any space in my last house and eventually came up with the idea of putting the tumble dryer on top of the work counter. No problem at all, it wasn't even heavy. Perhaps you could do the same?
