my washer has just given up the ghost,its 7 yrs old, it fills up with water to get ready to wash then just as the cycle begins the machine just makes a clicking sound and the drum will not go round at all,i then have to drain the water out which it allows me to do,does anybody have any ideas what the problem is thanks

I had the exact same problem with mine a couple of weeks ago, got someone out to look at it and it turned out to be the pump that's all. Haven't had the bill yet but it doesn't sound too costly to fix, if it is indeed the same problem.

this was happening to my machine turned out that i needed to clean filter

brushes? they are induction motors that run the drum....

Just tried opening a compartment at bottom of washer,to clean it out,looking at the manuel u r supposed to turn anti clockwise so far drain the water and repeat twice till all water has drained and then pull out,but it seems to be jammed and the smell of the water was like rotten eggs so who knows wots wrong,sounds like theres somethin jammed inside eekkkk

Just remembered as well i have been paying an insurance on washer which is gud but now im hoping it will be covered if it is something thats been left in a pocket and got jammed sumwhere in there

in my filter i had a sock all chewed up, 27p and lots of fluff and yes it smelt bad lol mine was hard to undo but i had not checked it for years i didnt know it was there lol oh used a tool on it to grip it then turned it sorry make sure you have something on floor to mop up water loads poured out of mine even though machine was empty good luck

i just removed £1.21, LOTS of hair, dog i assume, 4 fingernails (false) 2 buttons, 1 ice pole wrapper from my machine.

Also tore a ligament in my knee in the process. the joy.
