A whole host of DRM free albums are available to download at the new service being offered at we7.com. This was setup by Peter Gabriel, amongst others.

The ads are marginally annoying (mainly due to the mastering level difference between the ads and original recordings) but bearable considering its nice to listen to (drm free) 192k MP3s that are legal to download (i.e. during work hours). People using torrents probably wont bother with this service.

There seems to be a reasonable selection of well known back catalogue music available, considering its only just in Beta. There is also a load of unsigned artists on there (apparently - not that I've checked yet).

Genres: Alternative, Ambient / New Age, Blues, Classical, Country, Dance, Easy Listening, Folk, Hip Hop, Indie, Jazz, Latin, Miscellaneous, Pop, R&B, Reggae, Rock, Soundtracks / Other, World

Just tried to post this as a deal, but apparently its against their policy.

Same here. I'd rather just pay the 79p or buy the CD.
