It's 7am, the morning after the night before, you are staggering to work and spy a Wetherspoon pub, open for business. But if it is the hair of the dog you require, prepare to be disappointed.

The 750-strong pub chain today announced plans for early-morning opening but for the first two hours they will be an alcohol-free zone. There will be no beer on sale, just traditional breakfast fare like coffee and bacon sandwiches.

From April 28th Wetherspoon's doors will open two hours earlier to cash in on the demand for an early caffeine fix.

To be honest it's a sad state of affairs if anyone feels the need for alcohol at that ( this ) time of day so it's a good thing it's alcohol free to start with :)

Why's that then, this would be ideal for shift workers if they did serve alcohol from 7am,

agreed, when i used to work nights i always had a drink at this time of day. Only the same as someone grabbing a pint at 6pm on their way from work. I loved it when the world cup was on the other year and the pubs were opening at 7am, i was having around 5 or 6 pints.

is a good idea for night shift workers nip in and have a beer
why are poeple always say its sad to need a drink early
when day workers go for a drink after work is that sad i think not
so wheather it be 6pm or 6 am enjoy your food/beer
