My school has this thing, and i can go on this url and see the files on my school 'My Documents'
I can go on it and log in and see and download the files i have on there, but it should look like a normal 'My documents' with folders and i can drag stuff into it to upload it to the folder.

But instead its all text and i can't do that.

On the following link, it shows you how to fix this problem in Internet Explorer, i have tried, but says the certificates are expired or something! But i can view/ download the files on Firefox, just not drag files onto it ect...

Hope someone can understand this, and please help me

On my windows pc, i went to 'Network places' and clicked 'add network place' Then i went through the wizard and enter the url of "https://folders.xxxxxx.xxxxxx.sch.uk/easylink/wf.chs-sr-003.s/2004/xxxxxxxx/" and it worked. So i can delete folders from my school my docs ect. But i tried doing that on my vista laptop and i enter the same url but it said "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid. Please choose another." Please can you tell me how to add it on my vista laptop

Hi Jooe with two o's

here i believe is what you need to do with a windows vista machine:
1. From the desktop, click on Start and then Computer.
2. Then, click on Map Network Drive.
3. From that screen, click Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures, and then click Next.
4. Click Choose a custom network location, and then click Next.
5. Enter the following in the Internet or network address field:

"https://folders.xxxxxx.xxxxxx.sch.uk/easylink/wf.chs-sr-003.s/2004/xxxxxxxx/" or whatever the url to the folder is

6. Enter your WebDisk username and password when prompted.

Now i might have completly missed the point on your post but that is how i set up my web disk in vista

hello joe this is what i have just read on where my webdisk is hosted

Connecting to your web-disk with Vista can be unreliable. There is a patch from Microsoft available here. Details about the issue can be found here.
SSL support for WebDAV is not functioning properly in Vista yet. You can try to connect to https:// xxx. Please be patient as many connection attempts may be required.

the two links being http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=17C36612-632E-4C04-9382-987622ED1D64&displaylang=en and http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=907306

also reading a few articals on the internet it looks like there is a known issue with it connecting up to ssl like your trying, i did find an artical that claimed it had a work around for a problem but i do not know how true that is: http://www.schiller.cc/blog/2007/01/29/bug-in-vistas-webdav-implementation/ and the other alternative just try remobving the s from https

sorry that it did not help, i can not access my web disk either using ssl, i have to do it the old fashions unencrypted way.

seems like it is know issue with vista so will have to wait and see how long it takes them to fix.

The other place to post the question is on the microsoft forum, sure they are far more knowledgeable than me when it comes to things like this and also try your school it dept or who ever set this web disk up, maybe they can tell you away of connecting without using ssl
