Website hosting... help needed!

Hi everyone. I am keen on making my own personal webpage which I have designed using the iweb software on Mac. Currently I am using the free (trial) mobile me services to upload my website.
Basically its a webpage advertising my services and I would like to have a personalized but short web address. (as the one provided by mobile me is very long)
I wanted to know if someone has used any reliable company to get a web hosting service and web address.
Any help would be appreciated.
Any recommendations regarding printing of business cards.

And I use http://www.000webhost.com/, for a free web host.

the .co.cc is free for one year & they will take it away from you if the address gets too many hits, i have seen examples where they will charge £60+ for the domain renewal

Did not know that! That takes the biscuit, I have one for use with testing my final year project but think i'll just cancel the url now if that's how they are going to be lol.

Thanks for the info

Im using 123reg atm for School PTA but it's up for renewal in Aug so i would also be interested to see if there is anywhere cheaper or even better for free.

I found the trouble was is that i used Frontpage to create it and not many webhosts support it, well so i'm told.

Godaddy are selling .info domains (e.g. www.yoursite.info) for $0.99 cents at the moment (plus $0.20 fee for "ICAN" or something). Still, $1.19 'aint bad!

I use 5quidhost for my web hosting. They have a free package available but it's only £5 (1 off payment) for a bit more bandwidth and storage space.

110MB is also good but their newest server (known as "box 17") is having problems. Users in the UK often can't access sites hosted on box 17 as the IWF have blacklisted all sites on that server. A lot of UK ISPs subscribe to the IWF's blacklist so lots of UK residents couldn't access my site (so i switched to 5quidhost!). If 110MB have sorted the box 17 problem, then i'd recommend them - but not until they resolve it.

its supposedly fixed, by the messages on the forum, i use 110mb on 2 different boxes and never had a problem

gem_whl ... not many sites free will offer frontpage support and most paid hosts offer it as an extra add on ....... i recommend learning html and css @ www.w3schools.com/html and www.w3schools.com/css and coding the sites yourself, then you can host your sites wherever you want

Thanks. I have noticed Frontpage isn't the best thing to use. found it out after i designed it :x
I thought it was a good idea at the time but now i'm kind of regretting it. I'm good with computers but website building is definately not my forte.
