The teams

Saturday, 5 March 2011

Birmingham v West Brom, 12:45 (sky sports 2)
Arsenal v Sunderland, 15:00
Bolton v Aston Villa, 15:00
Fulham v Blackburn, 15:00
Newcastle v Everton, 15:00
West Ham v Stoke, 15:00
Man City v Wigan, 17:30 (ESPN)

Sunday, 6 March 2011

Liverpool v Man Utd, 13:30 (Sky sports 1)
Wolverhampton v Tottenham, 16:00 (sky sports 1)

Desperately hoping Liverpool can do us a massive favor on Sunday, Vidic won't play against Liverpool but Ferdinand and Evans return is looking likely. Kenny will have laid into the player's for their embarrasing defeat against West Ham. Carrol to make his debut aswell.

In other news, chelsea travel to Bloomfield looking to pick up where they left off against united and Spurs travel to Molineux. Both Arsenal and Spurs have massive games in the champions league next week but expect a Strong squad from both.

Behave jon sunderland are having their worst run all season, lost the last 4 Prem games i believe and a trip to the emirates? obviously possible but i shall be VERY VERY upset if we dont take all 3 points.

As for Anfield, i think there will be one goal in it. probably united :( hopefully carrol starts though :)

Can't really see a spanking tbf, they have only lost once by more than one goal at home. Chelsea were very poor in matches until the Utd one and I don't think one match will turn them into the team pre-christmas.

Is that the same 'World's best referee' that failed to send off Nigel De Jong for studding Xabi Alonso in the chest...?

They beat Spurs in their last home game.... I think they used up all their luck for the season in that one game! If Chelsea have half the scoring chances we had (and I expect them to get more!), they'll win by 4.

Manchester City have suspended Kolo Toure after the defender failed a Football Association drugs test.

An 'A-sample' from the Ivory Coast international tested positive for a 'specified substance' and the case is now the subject of a legal process.

Toure is therefore set to miss at least Saturday evening's Premier League match against Wigan.

A statement on City's official website read: "Manchester City confirm that the FA has informed Kolo Toure that an 'A-sample' provided by him has tested positive for a specified substance.

"As result of this, he has been suspended from participating in all first-team and non-first-team matches pending the outcome of the legal process.

"There will be no further comment from the football club at this stage."

Lol guv's become so insecure ever since he realised Spurs are going to struggle to make the top 4.

As for the Sunderland game, it will be a very tough game. We're going to be without Van Persie, Cesc, Song, Koscielny, Vermaelen and Walcott so will have a dodgy team out. Sunderland will try and play on the counter and Gyan is a threat, if we get an early goal hopefully we can finish them off but as the game goes on it will get more nervy.

Have I? Are you still going to be quoting comments about how far were going to get in the CL after next week? (PS Inb4 the whinges about playing Barcelona for being pants and not winning the easiest group)

Yeah i know we have a few key players out for this which is why im glad we face sunderland this weekend at the emirates. We have won 5 of the last 6 meetings at home against them.Sunderland haven't looked the same since bent went and even with cesc, persie walcott not being avaiable i think we will still pinch it. going for a 2-0
#28
is Cesc available for Barca or is he a long shot?

Walcott and RVP are defo out for Barca right?

semi thread hijack as its not about Premier League :p

It's hardly excuses, when you have that many players out then the team will never play as well. Yeah I suppose Sunderland should be good opposition and good thing it's at home, we really need the win. Maybe Bendtner can get a few more and keep this form going into the Barca and United games.

RVP and Walcott are definitely out for the Barca game, Van Persie will probably be out for a month, Walcott maybe around 2 more weeks. Even Song is looking a doubt for the Barca game. Cesc should be fine for the Barca game though, he said could possibly make the Sunderland game but Wenger's not going to risk him as it could just cause a worse injury.

We can still lose and go through, Barca might be without Puyol and Valdes and Pique is suspended. Just go all out attack! :p

im expecting us to get beat by a couple goals if im honest given the injuries and the occasion (nou camp) just a shame because given our strongest squad we know we can beat them. As we did.

Seems we aren't the only country with 'ref trouble'

I had a bet on some French matches that were supoosed to kick off at 7pm but no scores were feeding back.

French Football Federation replaces all referees for weekend matches after row
By The Associated Press (CP) – 18 minutes ago
PARIS — The French Football Federation will replace all referees for first-division matches this weekend after the refereeing union vowed to start each match 15 minutes late in protest at recent criticism.
Several referees have been heavily criticized by players, managers and television pundits in recent weeks, causing the refereeing union, known as SAFE, to take its stance.
But the FFF said in a statement Friday that "such threats are not and have never been acceptable" and that it has chosen "new referees, who will respect the federation rules."
The FFF said the decision was made in agreement with the French football league, whose president Frederic Thiriez was also critical of the decision to delay kickoff times.
