Half your portions, swap desserts for fruit, do a little bit of exercise.

Eat less, move more.

Burning more calories than you consume is the only long term way to lose weight

NO MEANS NO!

Print that out in a huge font & tape it to the fridge door.

best way i find is diet as it takes longer to lose weight through exercise which can make you eat more as it makes you hungry.

skip lunch will help to lose the pounds very quickly. eat lots of low calories which makes you feel too full to eat anything else like fruits. avoid bread, cakes, sugar etc, all the high calorie food.

Best way is to first start by stopping sitting off on internet forums.

Or - crazy idea but stay with me - you could exercise more and maintain a healthy diet?

If you have a smartphone get the free app My Fitness Pal. You can scan in everything you eat, log your excercise and track your weight loss. I found it a great help (especially as you can connect up with friends for support - and they can see when you cheat). Wanted to loose a half stone before my holiday - I managed it and have kept it off.

Don't forget excercise to tone up the flab and increase metabolic rate - if you fancy a bit of hard core try Jillian Michaels 30 day shred - 20 mins every day for a month. Trust me this really works!! Amazon link to Jillian

Most of all good luck!!

Maintain your current diet but exercise. You can eat like a pig but the weight will come off if you start running.

Portion sizes, no snacking (on crap), cut late night eating and drink loads of water...

I stopped buying oil, butter and sugar so that I couldn't use them.

Plus a little exercise

It's working for me anyways :)

Calories in vs calories out

Eat less than your body needs and you'll lose weight without the need for exercise

This doesn't mean eat 500 calories per day an starve it means eat about 1700 cals if you're a woman or about 2000 a day if you're a man.

This defecit should help you to lose 1-2 pounds per week without exercise. After a few weeks at these sorts of calorie limits you will see whether they are working or not. If not then cut calories further or increase calories if you're doing quite a bit of exercise.

Don't skip meals, reduce portions an educate yourself of calorie contents in food.

Weight loss isn't an overnight thing it will take you a few weeks to get some good progress but you need to see it as a lifestyle change otherwise you might as well not bother

You'd probably get better advice if you gave a brief outline of why you need to lose weight in the first place, by which I mean primarily your old/current eating habits. Also, be aware that anything which causes rapid weight loss is never actually a suitable solution in the long-term.
