Weight loss questions

Was wondering if anyone knew any good ways to lose weight, I did think about buying an exercise bike but dont have the space and I move about twice a year and worried about getting it in a small van with other stuff but I havent ruled it out.

I have a proper set of weights at my parents, the dumbell kits so that will help but its more about routine..

My weight generally goes up about 1.5 stone a year because I get a bit relaxed about eating habits but I reckon if I lose most of my weight(I am 17 stone and want to be 12) then it will be easier to keep it off as wont be as hungry, and easier to keep in shape.

So I want to get down to about 14 to get at least reasonably healthy and fit into all my nice clothes that I have had for about a year still with tags on and so I will be faster so can go for a fast run.

Yeah my weight is pretty much centred on the belly, I have a rugby player build, smallish face though since I hit 16 stone it has gotten quite round and I have been told I have good arms legs and ass lol.

I just have this pregnant looking belly but it doesnt overhang over trousers really.

Joking aside, all I ate today was a tin of soup, about 1/6 a packet of oven chips and a small box of chicken dippers I dont stuff my face very often and when I do I dont eat anything else the whole day.

Dont forget though your whole body needs a work out if u are to loose weight, just targeting one part of your body will be no good.

Have a quick read if u feel up to it, lol.

Yeah thats what I was thinking but was intending focusing mainly on something like treadmill and bike with a bit of weight lifting as thats all I think I can handle till I lose some weight so am lighter but not sure.

As i was once told by someone i used to work with, for good excercise get a aerobic trampoline and stick your fav piece of music on for 15 mins and have a little dance to it on the trampoline while lettin the spring take control. He used to do it for 15 mins every few hours and he lost quite abit of weight in the 2 months he was doing it for.

Obviously people have there own ways of loosing weight but simple little things like that help.

thats probably the worst thing you can do need to eat small regular meals in order to maintain a healty weight otherwise your starving your body and when you do eat it stores it away as fat

Sounds like u have a crap diet to me. U need to get rid of the junk food and start eating healthier alternatives, this will make a big difference. Dont bother wasting money on treadmills etc, buy a decent pair of running shoes and get outside

Maybe but I dont think its the main thing as I can eat healthily for days or more and exercise and see no real difference in mood or energy though I know thats not long term.

I think its more about moderation than saying just eat healhily as my diet changes every day and I have no structure, even when I have gone a few weeks eating healthily I saw no difference in weight and in fact gained weight.

When I was at parents for a week they dont live off perfectly healthy foods though I did feel better and less sore, we lived off stuff like mince and tattties with carrots in etc, or salad one day, then another day home made soup, another was home made chicken curry etc despite not being that healthy I felt better and more energy.

Jogging, swimming, or cycling is usually the best. Don't wast your money on any DVD nonsense

Oi numpty, its 2.99! If you cant afford to waste that, then you need to get giving out some more papers on that round of yours  whats there to lose? 2.99 whooopppeee! Beats paying for trainers, swimming shorts, a bike??? Think doyle!! :p;-)

Firstly, you need to jam that hype immediately. Secondly, regardless of how much the DVD costs it is still a waste of money and i'll think you'll find that it doesn't beat paying for trainers, swimming shorts or a bike

PS: I didn't get the whole paper boy reference. Maybe you could elaborate

Oh I wasnt expecting things like that, but if I ate ok for a few weeks and watched what I ate and did a lot of walking and maybe one day a gym in a week dont expect to really put on weight thats all I meant by changing diet short term or such, I just think that if I eat junk food in moderation as well as healthy stuff and do some form of exercise I shouldnt gain weight again maybe not lose it but not gain.

It is much easier to put on weight than is to lose it and also it is harder to shift the older you are.

One thing though, do you eat breakfast?? as that will get your metabolism going right at the start of the day and will benefit you a lot. Also, don't eat anything just before you go to bed.

Couple that with a jog on a morning and night you should see a difference in 6-8 weeks.

Also if you just stop eating in order to see results, you may find that the weight you are losing is muscle mass which will make you lighter but not healthier. As your body will store away fat.

Btw its too early for me to check through my post to make sure it makes sense but you should get the idea.

dude i used be huge, but take the plunge and was 10 stone at my lightest. you need the dedication! i started going the gym (council run one is £20 a month) turned into 3-4 hours a day 7 days a week (good job i was single at the time).
i'd have a massive and i mean massive bowl of fruit and fibre for breakfast which would do me till tea time which would be fish/meat and veg.
Still went out on the lash etc....

you get to a point where you train your body! i don't go gym at all now since i got married/new job etc... put some back on but nothing major, but i just eat tea now as i only eat when i am hungry (sometimes dinner at weekends).

biggest advise i can offer is the above Only eat when your hungry our bodies get used to set times even if they don't need it

Weight Watchers

I know some men are embarressed to go but we have 4 that go to my WW group, 1 being my OH. He has now got to his goal of 12 stone 2lb in 5 weeks, he was 13st 10!

Men lose weight much quicker than woman but you need a plan to follow. With regular meals. My OH was on 29 points which is loads. He has had lots of meals and snacks including chocolate but food is just cooked differently etc.

You can do WW online if you don't want to go to class, or buy the books on ebay and try it that way.

When you get your eating habits established then start upping your exercise.

But you need Willpower... thats where I am lacking! lol :p
