I had this conversation with a mate of mine the other day - He came round for a few beers, we would usually go the local and have a few before coming back here to play guitars like our idols, and then wake up totally hungover.

This time (last week), I was yawning by 10pm and he was in my extra room by 10:30pm.

Do we reach a point where it's better to simply enjoy the day and go to bed at a reasonable hour?

Am I getting old?

Im only 21 but I don't go out to clubs/pubs for ages at a time. I'll go once or twice one month and then won't do it for another four months - I couldn't do town every week or sit in a local boozer week in week out. I do work weekends so that may have something to do with it but a lot of the time Id rather relax with the missus :)

It is strange though - I used to enjoy spending £50 down the local, and now I enjoy a couple of peronis in my house.

This is the chair I sit in: And I feel like I should be 80? Maybe a pipe and a smoking jacket would go down well? Ah fudge it! I'm happy!

us women are forced to grow up quicker than men, just so we can handle dealing with kids and a big kid of a man!!

I'm actually 36 but since moving to the sticks (sheep and things), I've really chilled out. I used to live in the city and get stressed by all matter of things. Now I wake to the sound of owls and cows, rather than people being sick outside my apartment! :D

That room the picture of the chair is taken was actually a very modern room when we moved in 3 years ago. I bought two of the queen anne chairs on ebay, got a rug from Laura Ashley and got the antique lights to fit.

I'm an old twonk..... and I don't care!

My partner, Jenny, had a miscarriage last year and she's been super sensitive about things this time around - which is fine by me.

We went for a private scan two weeks a go and I as really impressed!
He/She is very active! Had loads of scans and he/she is jumping around like anybodies business.
To know the sex? I'll do whatever Jenny wants me to.
As long as I can call it Thor, I'll be fine.

I'm not sure you can equate the time you go to bed with how grown up (mentally or behaviourally) you are. Neither would I think that sticking yourself in a chair and drinking a couple of cans is particularly grown up - rather lazy maybe

Personally, I would equate being grown up with making adult decisions, caring for others, not just yourself, empathising and considering intelligently the problems that life presents you with.

'Grown up' does not necessarily equate to 'getting older', given the idiomatic implications.
