I am trying to make a few cds for my daughter, but the cds will only play on my laptop and not in a cd player.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

it would appear you are transfering them to cd in mp3 format, or just pulling across a shortcut of them, use nero

possibly you are simply creating a data disc with the mp3 files on it? you need to create a music cd in your burning software to convert the mp3s to playable music files on a stereo system.
What's the name of the software you're using?
& what's the burning option you are choosing?
Just what comes up on the screen, havnt a clue if I am honest.

I will try Nero.

Thanks everyone
as said try nero & create an audio CD instead of a data disk or mp3 CD, in audio mode you should only be able to fit around 1 album per CD so you'll know your doing it right if the CD is almost full after copying one album accross.

Depending the stereo you will probably have to finalise the CD too which your laptop probably doesn't care about - this is a tick box or pull down option in nero somewhere but I think it's set to finalise by default - check out the help if you can't find the option.
need to choose create Audio CD
