Just bought a new DVD player (Sony) and it is not multi region. While I was looking at region 1 dvd's to clear out I came across three original Reboot DVD's which are now well out of print. A trip to Amazon saw some of these at £600+ yup, you read that right!

Being a realist I just wondered what they were actually worth. I know they are rare and very hard to get (they were when I bought them years ago) but surely not that sort of money.

They are Vol1: To mend and defend, Vol 4: The Viral Wars and The Reboot 'movie': the last two episodes; Daemon rising and My Two Bobs.
I want to sell them but don't want to rip anyone off but nor do I want to sell them cheap to someone who wants to make a huge profit of them.
Anyone any idea?

Yup, that is one of them. I also have this:

http://www.amazon.com/Reboot-Season-Vol-Viral-Wars/dp/B000056NX0/ref=pd_sim_d_3

I know the amazon prices but surely $126.95 is a bit steep?

I also have this one:

http://www.amazon.com/Reboot-Daemon-Rising-Two-Bobs/dp/B0001LJCSY/ref=pd_sim_d_2

I was hoping for some realistic prices, that last one sounds about right though.

i saw one on ebay for $99

its quite hard to come to an average price TBH they are all different. i guess maybe about £20-£40 seems about right though for a fair price

I remember seeing this when I was 10-12 loved it, had forgotten about till you posted this so thanks for bringing some memories back :)

Then you might like the recent 'Art of Reboot' book. Waterstones can get it in about 2-3 weeks or order from the US.
Glad to have brought back some good memories, loved this myself when I was younger.

Thanks for the info there Dangergod, I got them on ebay now.

Cool. let us know how you get on

Hold on there. You might not have to get rid of any region 1's. You can make almost ALL DVD players multi region. Don't worry, you dont need to open the machine or anything, you normally just have to open the cd tray, press 4 buttons on your remote and then close the tray again and this makes the player multi region.

More info plus sites that give you the code for your player can be found here. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/dvd-unlock

I am pretty well up on multi region code having 'remote hacked' most of the ones I owned but Sony (and particularly this model) are impossible to hack without a service remote. Just didn't see the point and decided to get rid of a few DVD's at the same time.

More Tat :lol
#11
Well clearly not tat for some. These are very rare and hard to get and there are quite a few people 'watching' these auctions on eBay. Fingers crossed for a bit of holiday money!
#12
Who are the some ? Lol

What is wrong with people(buyers) that makes them think these are worth anything.

Not having a go mate just cannot believe why certain things(especially these) are deemed worth more than their initial TAT value from when they were released.

Each to their own: I was hav'n a bad day.

lumoruk hit the nail on the head. Dontasciime, If you have no personal interest in these DVD's or answering the very simple question posed about their value, then I have no idea why you are taking the time to post negative comments.
Some people are interested in these. If you must know why, try asking those that are already bidding on them on ebay.

OK then They are still TAT but i suppose If they interest some and I used to watch them on Citv but they are certainly TAT and not worth anything really if they are in publication or out they are at the end of the day a cartoon (to me) and not worth anything. I came across plenty of American websites selling these for $9.99 the complete set not so long ago so they are hardly worth £600+ (to me) comeon but if you want to sell them and someone wants to pay for them then they can. I will still think they are a bit mad but as I said each to their own - IMO they are worth £2 at a car boot sale - TO me - thats their max value. To some idiot, I mean collector I suppose they might be worth a lot more.

I'm interested so in essence you are calling me an idiot which is classed as insulting another member breaking the rules of this site = infraction. I can't remember if it was you or the other 10yr old who reported me for a similar comment in a thread but i won't be reporting you.

Come on - You can see I mean Idiot in joking way - get a thicker skin. When did I report you ? Co's I cannot remember reporting anyone.

OK so it's clear when things are to be sold for more money than they are (clearly) worth and some Idiot wants to buy them (This has included me in the past as I have collected some stupid things and paid well over the top for said things making me Mad and an idiot for buying them also.

But please do go on.

I think the major thing you're missing is that what people are buying when they buy a Reboot DVD, or something of its ilk, isn't just a taping of a kid's TV program, but it's an epic figure of nostalgia and of something of personal value from their childhood. It's like a photograph. A photo is worth nothing. It's just a sheet of card, with a production value of maybe 20p, and a second-hand value of whatever four sheets of toilet roll is worth. But to someone to whom that photo is special, it can be priceless. It's like that.

yeah I get that . Have collected things myself. In reality though there are not worth what we pay and mug/s springs to mind.

It's a buyers market and if someone wants to buy them, I have them for sale. They are at a reasonable price so people will bid what they want. It is not like I am asking $600 like Amazon.
Still, calling these tat and buyers 'idiots' displays a real lack of intelligence and a great deal of ignorance. As I said, if you have no interest and cannot offer constructive discussion i.e. what these are worth (and not just in your opinion, but market value) then why are you posting if not to simply antagonise those that are interested?

Surely you have something better to do?

Do you not then neither ? (sorry but I did kinda say sorry a few posts ago and that I was joking but if you missed that Sorry you took offence)

Anyways about the word tat and Idiot when I typed them (I know in what context they were meant as I typed them)

Thing you should learn is when you see words like TAT and Idiot in word form on a forum . You cannot see the jovial nature they are typed / said in, like you can when face to face with someone. Please stop taking the meaning so serious and understand I included myself as an Idiot in this as I have bought stuff that is way overpriced because of the so called rarity of the item nostalgic sentimental value.

What you need are some Reboot experts don't think they hang round here though

OK hopefully you understand now if not refer back to your quote above

Checked out ebay and there were quite a few for £11 delivered buy it now - maybe not the rare ones you have though which are just normal after tv dvd market releases are they not ? (actually seems those are gone today and only few remain like the one below)

Reboot: Special Edition Double Feature (DVD) it's a pre order so they must be re releasing like Disney do.

Daemon rising and My Two Bobs. £11.95 delivered on ebay if you search for reboot dvd

Well, one went for £26, another is relisted and currently £12.50. The last series double sided DVD has not sold yet.

Who would have thought eh?
#25
Should have tried to sell them on Amazon with them going for more money on there.
#26
£73 was fine for me...they were no use to me anymore.
