What are the average prices of architect?

to build a 4 bedroom house, i know it is all relative to the size but i just want a rough idea of the cost i am looking at it it a few grand or a few hundred?

5% ~ 10% of total build cost is usual, although you can negotiate a lump fee. It will still probably run into a few thousand minimum. Maybe things have changed though - best thing to do is ring several architects for 'casual' quotes.

I'm looking to become an architect, I've just prepared some plans, but while I'm learning, you can have my work for free...

I am an architect although am not currently practising. (am into IT at the moment.) What do you have in mind, I need a client brief.

Yes, good idea. OP, employ someone from HUKD Misc to design your house on the cheap .... as long as you don't mind it collapsing in the next storm! :giggle:

put it this way, not cheap:whistling: the only thing u have working in ur favour is that th building industry is a mess just now so u would get a low price to build it

i have £100,000 to play with to build it, i already have the land

will that cover it to build and fit out?

should do, but it will be tight depending on the finishes and specification

i have mates in the trade so hopefully i should get it cheaper from them as they owe me favours lol. Electrics i can do myself and get checked via a mate (qualified electrician), plastering my fathers mate is a plasterer, i have a mate who is a plumber, only 1 i dont know is a joiner lol but am sure i can find one
