What are the heat differences when installing a xbox 360 game to hard drive than using the disc?

Just wondering whether the console runs cooler when installed to hard drive or if there is no difference. Does anyone have any links to test results?

it runs quieter :) so its worth doin if you play the same game a lot ( i guess that there is a bit of heat reduction but not a huge amount )

it's alot quieter, Loading screens are faster ect, The reason fory ou needing a disc to play the game off the hard drive is because the disc works as a validation code.

Does it ever. I thought there was a jet plane in the house when I loaded my first game.

id say the heat generated from the drive is not really add to overheating problem xboxes suffer from
#5
so is there a way to help reduce the amount of heat the 360 makes?
#6
change the fans to the whisper max ones, drill the vents out a bit at the back or just google it :)

No. But that would only prove that the dvd drive is cooler. And that is still likely to heat up to near enough the same temp anyway.

Wouldn't that void the warranty?

Are there no other ways to keep the system cool without voiding the warranty?

yea it would make it void but if it is still under warranty why are you bothered ??:?

just keep plenty of room around it for the air to circulate

Because i just got the console and i want to install ixtreme on it, so i only want it going back to microsoft to be repaired as a last resort. I'd rather prevent it from occurring than sending my console to microsoft

flashing the drive will void the warranty too ;-) unless your good with a scapel and hairdryer :-D

if your going to open it up you may as well upgrade the fans, you could always put it standard if it died

But if my console fails microsoft don't check the firmware that on the dvd drive so should still be fixed under warranty. this has happened to alot of my friends:thumbsup:
