Calais town is nice to have a wander around, beware of the immigrnts they can be very nasty
Cite D'europe is a big shopping centre and there is a factory discount place opposite and a large hypermarket inside.
If you want baccy then pop down to the belgium border around 30-40 min drive, cheaper
hope it helps

With the pound so week, shopping is ruled out!

Could play a game seeing how many immigrants you can get in your boot!

Totally agree with above.

Clear everything out of your car boot and fill it with wine. Check out the special offers, you should see BOGOF for both Red and White.
Remember Valentines Day so stock up on fizz.

might be of use
See they have the sales on till Feb 7th so if you are lucky may still be able to get a bargain even with exchange rate

If taking the car you are probably best to fill in UK
but can check out the prices over there if you want to venture

Even in stormy weather it's not too bad. It's only a 90 minute crossing anyway.

And the floating pile of wood was near ramsgate last night according to the news. You should go or there will just be a lot of what ifs....

Sarah i hope you get to still make your trip! I do this calais trip every three months. You may want to just walk around the town. They have lots of touristy cafes. There is a fancy statue there. The Burghers of Calais (Les Bourgeois de Calais) is one of the most famous sculptures by Auguste Rodin. It looks better in summer when all the flower beds are in full bloom. There is also a small park where i saw the local men playing a game of Boules/bowls :)
