My girlfriend has just bought a new Iphone and I was trying to find an old posting on here of people favourite and recommended apps. I couldn't find it using the search, so thought I would just ask peoples thoughts. :)

thanks for the replies. I am pretty new to the apps thing. it is a brand new 3gs iphone so not jail broken or anything. If possible, could you let me know how to find the apps you suggest? Many thanks :)

Scroll to the right on the menu screen and you should see a shortcut to the App store. Click that and when it loads search for whichever app you want in the search tab. You can also browse popular apps etc on the other tabs.

Night Camera. search for it under apps, It improves low light photography. Just got an update which included 3D anaglyph photography. Tried it out - you have a 3D photo which can be viewed in 3D using Blue / red glasses. I also printed it out and everyone said it was awesome (It was actually LOL). You first take a photo, it leaves a 'ghost' of the image on screen, then line up the same scene again with the ghost image, take again and then the program 'marries' the two image into a fantastic anaglyph, 3D photo. You can choose between B&W & Colour

Oh and i-clicker. Enables you to control a powerpoint presentation wirelessly. It prieviws next slide and gives you note on slide and enables you to move to next slide or bullet point etc. Excellent! Scrabble, Sky News, Google (just raise phone to ear, say what you are looking for and it accurately 'googles it', 'printer share' enables you to wirelessly send photo etc to your computer and then to printer, 'Trip it' If you have a journey, email your confirmation to trip it and it automatically details your journey, checks flights and shows maps etc., use Safari and go to www.freeappalert.com, SAVE TO SCREEN (HOLDSCREEN, MENU WILL APPEAR AND GIVE YOU THIS OPTION) Check each day for 'free' paid for apps.

Blimp & Traffic Rush are my two favourite games...

Blimp is the best 59p you could spend - fingers crossed for a sequel!

I love the fact that the threadstarter asked for apps for a girl, and that CoD and Sky Sports apps have been recommended...lol!

I'm joking - it's great to see people recommending apps. My suggestions would be Peggle (ball and peg puzzle game), Amazon (spend her cash without leaving the sofa), iHotUKDeals (app version of this great site), Dictionary.com (always handy), Google Earth (help your Mrs improve her sense of direction), Tioti TV Free (see what's on telly for up to 2 weeks), Wikipedia (helps settle argyuments and win quizzes), Charadium (online Pictionary - brilliant!), Flight Control (the original timewaster), Spider - the Secret of Bryce Manor (genius little platform game) and, if she's a Scrabble fan, try Words with Friends.

Sort yourself out with icons that link you to iPlayer and TV Catch Up and you're away!
