My PC keeps turning itself to a blue screen with windows has detected a problem, at the bottom under all the writing it is dumping physical memory - 100

I cant figure out what I need to do, is it a simple problem?

It is restarting perfectly fine though

What does that mean? Is it something i can fix using the PC or would I have to open it up and change it around? ta xx

Plus would looking at a load of uploaded pictures start this problem off?

if you have a nvidia card then goto www.nvidia.com and download the latest drivers, if it a ATI card, then find their web site and do the same

A good idea is to write down the code and file name displayed and then search google with them. It will give you an idea what is going wrong.

This program, will tell you what driver is causing it to blue screen!

It comes up with
IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL

Googled it and loads of different solutions.

I went on a site other day and it took me maybe at least 15 clicks to get rid of a pop up ad, each time I clicked red cross It came up with another message giving me an option or OK or Cancel, so wasnt sure what to click other than red cross! Oops!

Could also be your ram, you might have a dodgy piece of ram which will need replacing or taken out.

I have unplugged the USB for printer as thats not 100% working, Not 100% about RAMs lol

Just a thought could it be anything to do with Realtek? Do i need realtek on PC?
#10
Look for the memory cards on the main board and see if they need seating home eg they all should be the same level (assuming more than one memory card)
#11
it wont be the printer causing the problem - most likely is memory (ram), or a problem with your video card - as suggested above make a note of all of the error message then google it, also check Device Manager to see if there are any problem devices being reported.

its probably also worth running Windows Update to ensure you have the latest drivers for your hardware...

The important info is at bottom of that blue screen under technical information

Why did you mention realtek >? (audio ? or lan ? Wlan ?) either way update the drivers via windows update and see what happens. Under optional updates maybe if not critical or deemed important enough by M$
#17
well it worked for about 2 hours no faults, then did the blue screen, this time said page fault in non paged area.

I didnt catch the numbers though, But now I try and reboot the PC it sounds like its rebooting, light comes on, but its not sending signal to the monitor?

I am on netbook at the moment, and cannot get on PC at all now. Is it ******ed? lol

Untick reboot on blue screen then you can note down what it says.

I cant get no screen to work on PC so none of those options are good for me at the moment,
Think its died on me! I never got a vista disc from the PC we bought from Tescos, its an Acer. Got the sticker on machine but no disc, so always restarted back to basics via the machine

Seriously, i have no idea what im doing:oops: Just know how to make and spend money on the net lol
banned#21
acers you have to burn the disc (acer has software on it to do that) , it has a utility to do that, but sounds like its too late

but if it wont fire the screen at all, then its dead jim

Faulty ram will bring up the blue screen of death for sure as will multiple other things, rarely ram goes faulty though, that's why they give lifetime warranties on the most of them :)

It is one of the easier things to check though, if there are two sticks of ram in your machine then boot using one at a time to rule out the other (Of course make sure power to PC is off before switching ram)

Do you create system restore points? I am not sure with Acer, but luckily Dell do an auto restore point after every windows update.

When rebooting hold or tap the f8 key (Before the windows loading screen, I think), hopefully you will be presented with a restore option, restore to an earlier date, say 2 weeks ago.

If you can restore to an earlier date and you are still getting the blue screen then it rules out a software problem/conflict, problem is in your hardware.

Get that code though, and google it

Oh btw, if there is no restore option in the boot menu (F8), try booting to safe mode, and from there click windows and look for system restore under system tools (I think)

I used to have that problem with tv's and gave up in the end

you could take out the drive and formatt in another machine, but to be honest, the spares on it wont be worth much, only the processor (which you can take out) and the ram (comes out too) will make about 30 (if its remotely modern) and the hard drive isnt worth selling

the rest of the machine is just case, motherboard(the faulty bit) and psu, which are all in reality worthless
#25
which model acer surely there is system recovery press alt F10 just after switching on a follow instructions (if you ever get screen back on
#26
So best to just burn the whole machine if we have no luck in the weekend?

This was hubbys revenge for our old PC breaking down, he just burnt the thing to make sure no one got anything off HD. I am going to be lost without main PC lol

Thanks all for your help xx

I had a faulty machine that would run 3 days fine, when it crashed and stopped working it would also destroy almost anything attached to it, ruined a cd burner, then the hard drive, then something else,

sell the ram & processor and give the drive a funeral (or buy a caddy so you can use it as backup for the other machines)

Did you try any of my suggestions in my previous post? Or are you saying that you can not even get power to the machine? Not trying to boot anymore?

If it will attempt to boot then tap f8 to bring up the boot menu, tell us what is listed.

NO WAY would I give up on a machine that could only have a bit of software conflict

If the video card is a seperate unit (Not onboard), then it may be unseated or out of place, unless the machine has had a bit of a kick then this is rare, so it started off as a simple software problem and then you kicked it :-D just admitt it :p

While its off, pull of the side panel and just make sure everything is slotted in as it should be, pull out one stick of ram at a time. If you do get into a restore menu later, and there are restore points then you are flying
