If its the USB device, its probably because you are installing on the user account rather than the Admin, log out of the user and back in as admin, then install the device

usb device.

Everything, webcam, printer, bluetooth etc. when the computer boots up, things reinstall themselves.

I have a similar problem, as whenever my ASUS laptop updates the BIOS, the bluetooth module (pre-installed) has to reinstall again and for some reason it does not like Vista and says that there is a problem installing :?

Maybe you could solve your problem by updating the laptop BIOS...

I have three different computers, all do as you describe, it`s not reinstalling, it`s just letting you know it`s found the device!

My PC does the same, if i unplug all the connections and move it somewhere else, it reinstalls all the USB drivers when i plug things back in.

usb devices are not stored permanently, its a bug with windows ........ everytime you turn on a pc it will inform you that your device is plugged in, its annoying imo ..........

there might be a way to stop the alerts:|
