I'm a newbie so sorry if this has been raised before or it's stirring the sh1t.

I was under the impression it was about the deal i.e. the price but it seems based on feedback that a lot of folk vote if they like the product or not.

What do you do? What is this site for?

I personally vote on the deal.
If I do not like the product I will say so but the thread is about the price and I vote on that alone.
If its cheap, its hot

Would i buy it for that price?
Is it actually a deal of a slightly reduced price? (£1 off isnt a deal!)
Is it available elsewhere (In Stock) at the same price?

i will only vote cold on a deal if it is expensive or it is a deal that is unavailable.

I agree with Antj87 - a deals a deal but it has to be a 'real' one not just a bit cheaper and it has to be reasonably available depending on circumstances (no good having a fantastic deal on the last one in stock or end of line!)

I dont decide on if I like the product or not as that to me is not really relevant otherwise the World would be a boring place :)

I vote hot if I can't find it cheaper elsewhere online.

some people vote cold if for example if a film is not showing in there local cinema which personally that is not a good idea.

If the item is cheaper than anywhere else - at the time it has been posted - is HOT for me!

if i have no interest or knowledge in something, then I don't really see how i can just if it's hot or cold, regardless of the price.

To vote hot or cold on a deal, use the blue and red arrow buttons to the left of every deal, as shown in the image above. You can also vote lukewarm by using the grey square in the middle. If you are a new member, you may see the temperature move by very little, or not at all. If you see it take a big jump, it may mean that someone else was voting on the deal at the same time as you, and you see the cumulative effect when the page refreshes.

If you are cold voting a deal, it is good forum etiquette to post a note in the deal as to why you have done so. There is nothing more confusing to a new member, than to post a deal, only to see it go cold with no explanation. If you found the item cheaper elsewhere, please let us know where and how. If you have no interest or knowledge about the deal at all, please don’t vote cold, just move on.

HUKD has systems in place to detect serial cold voters, and it may lead to a ban from the forums, as it is against the code of conduct.

i vote on the deal not personal preferance

That is how I vote - if I take advantage of a deal I vote hot. I never vote cold
