What day is it?

Ok, maybe these are just sleep-depraved ramblings, but every time I pull an all-nighter and especially when I pull multiple all-nighters in a row, you can guarantee my mind wonders to this topic at some point.

---

Lets pretend its Friday night, its after midnight, your technically in sat morning, but to you, your mind and your body its still Friday night, right?

Well, What if you didn't go to sleep, you decided to stay awake. Meanwhile, I do go to sleep. So it comes round to 11pm, when you woke up last it was Friday morning. When you wake up next its not Sunday morning to you, its Saturday cause you havent slept. Meanwhile, I wake up and it IS Sunday morning because I slept between Friday and sat.

Therefore I am on a different day to you.

Babies however, take afternoon naps, which means their days are shorter and in theory in one of our days (were we sleep at night) a baby has 2 days. This in effect means a baby has 2 birthdays a year, but we don't celebrate both (thats kind of mean isn't it)

Understand? If not, re-read slowly, it DOES make sense.

Maybe I'm crazy but I think I make sense

stora - woot, post of the year, i think it should win *nods* though saying that I'll probably have a lot more all night ramblings before the end of the year.

jcampwala - to put it bluntly yes, though saying that just think, 2 birthdays!

crazy1 - that is exactly why she has 2 birthdays
