def wouldnt go with any of the supermarket brands like pedigree, bakers etc they are all way to high in additives and def make dogs hyper and alot of dogs are actually allergic to these foods too.
my two dogs are royal canin fed but james wellbeloved, wagg, iams, science hill are all good foods.
hope that helps:)

I feed my lab Skinners duck & rice. Try looking on Labrador forums. You will find alot of advice on there about feeding.

Utaki (pardon spelling).

Local kennels use it and available in large 15kg bags from Costco at good price. Dog is a Rough Collie

Vet said dry was best but he gets sick of dry so sometimes give him tuna/sardines. But for some reason all kinds of bakers gives him the runns :-s He is a springer so hyper is a day to day thing

Beta. Our old and much loved lab had the appropriate Beta all through his 14 years. Our retriever is now 6 and has got on very well with it, as well. We 'spoil' this one a bit more and add a spoonful of tinned Pedigree dog food, just for the taste.

See these threads as well, for misc opinions.

BTW - They had eggs and tinned rice pudding when they were little puppies as well as the Beta puppy dry food.

James Wellbeloved... Generally any dog food with about 50% meat (read ingredients) is a premium food... Things such as Bakers and other supermarket brands generally have about 10% meat!

best food for your dog is a brand called arkwrights all bakers and top brands are no good also james wellbeloved is one of the best

James wellbeloved, Skinners, Arden Grange, Fish for dogs are all good foods IMO. My dogs (beagle and Pointer) are both on Arden Grange and are doing really well on it and it doesn't cost the earth for the adult 15kg cost me £25.49 .

I started my lab off on James Wellbeloved until a year old, he is now on Wagg and very happy with it

I tried my Golden Retriever on Beta but it made him hyper & gave him a bad tummy so I switched to Arden Grange but he wouldn't touch it unless mixed with wet food & even then he'd eat it reluctantly. He's now on Acana (pacifica flavour) which he loves & will happily eat dry. It's expensive but because it only has good ingredients in it, no fillers, you actually feed the dog less of it.

I feed mine cats I catch in my garden

I feed mine Whites. They react badly to Bakers and many other supermarket type dog foods. They both appear to be gluten intolerant.

I feed mine Burnes and my bruv feeds his Uberkanuber (think thats how you spell/pronounce it). Avoid, like others have said, the likes of Bakers etc ;-)
