Hey guys any feedback would be great

To cut a long story short a building a few hundred yards from my home put in for a licence for what i thought was an off licence but turns out its gonna be a pub. Well i put in a rejection as we live right under a bridge and its on a tight turn.

it went ahead as i knew it would in the end but now the people that own the property and are opening it keep hurling abuse at my house and walk their rather large pets. My sis and mum are at home as mums disabled and am worried what this could lead to.

Has anyone got any advice about this cause i've now heard this person has been in prison and is "after me" what that means i don't know but i have to walk past that place every day for work and got a sick feeling i'm gonna get something bad happen to me

what can i do? a couple of neighbours have said they are asking where i work and what i look like so i'm thinking they aren't messing as their parent is a biggish businessman. no one in the street will say anything legally against them but they all reckon the one is a right nut job and i'm on the radar

Help!!

I would first of all try to go have a sit down chat with the new landlord and try clear the air...............they obviously knew of the objections. You can air your views and they can try hopefully reassure you etc

If that fails I would def contact ur community policeofficer

Police. :)

I dunno because it seems all supposition and hearsay.

I guess as bossy says have a word with your neighbourhood police. Maybe they can go have a chat.... I dunno if that may not even inflame the situation even more though.

Good luck to you, sounds an awful situation to be in xxx

i wouldn't dare, someone across from me had a chat with this particular person and got a trip to A +E but wouldn't press charges. As the licence is in his wifes name it can go ahead. there are alot of things that don't add up about how the licence got granted. Gonna get some legal advice about this as i am worried about all our safety in the household. I work 7 days a week and if i can't work we won't have a home so i'm flapping like a chicken cause if what i've heard is true i'm stuffed and not in a good way :(

Yes if u went straight to police u r definitely going to inflame the situation. Your family are the 'troublemakers' in this families eyes. So you need to change that........................and to me that could be done quite easily by going and having a chat with them. Let them know why u opposed their request - they will probably understand and already know the reasons.................but at least it gives both sides a chance to get their voice heard.

I reckon that would do it.........................because u r obviously upset the situation is 'worse' in your head ........said with respect.................but it probably isnt as bad as that.

I agree, why not maybe go for a drink in the pub when it opens and have a chat with the landlord/lady :)

Hope it works out well for you, I know what its like to live in an area with a bad family that most ppl are scared of

wish i could go have a chat if i was a bloke i would but i am flat out worried, my sister is like 6 foot built like a brick shed house and even shes worried about what might happen and normally nothing scares her.

i hope its nothing but when everyone tells you to be careful and not go out alone it does get you worried. its upsetting my mum and i keep telling her its nothing and will go away once the place is open, but its been about 3 months now and i'm cracking. dare not go police at all oh well whatever happens will happen

sounds like rather poor episode of the street.

I'd move.

Have'nt you got a male relative who can go and sort it out?
Any so-called hard man would'nt be seen dead harassing a disabled lady which in turn makes me think you have nothing to worry about.
#12
I would go and see him, take someone with you and just explain calmly your reasons for objecting.

These type of people aren't as scary as your mind makes them out to be and would appreciate the direct approach

Not true.
[mod]#14
You need to realise that it isnt always the right way to act by objecting to these applications. If you have to live with this on your extended doorstep then you ought to build a relationship before anything escalates...as it has.

What are your main concerns? A "few hundred hards" is quite a distance to be honest.

Not true.

It is actually.

Q - What Rules and Regulations are there for pub tenancies?

A - To sell alcohol for consumption on your premises you must have a personal licence, which is issued by the Local Authority.

You must be over 18 years old, have no criminal record, prove that you are a ‘fit and proper’ person and understand your legal and social responsibilities
