What Stuff do I need for the Gym, Luckily Won a Years membership for the Local Gym after doing a questionaire.

So whats everything I will need, state even the obvious such as shorts etc. What do you think is best?

shorts, shirt, towel, shoes, clean underwear and socks for after youve showered, ipod, but most importantly a good programe :thumbsup:

good comfortable running trainers, a gym bag if u plan on having a shower after, a clear goal what u intend to achieve by going
and a basic routine of what u gonna do and how, with these goals u can aim for them
if u go blind u will probably be walking round like a headless chicken

Make sure you eat the right food before you, so you get the most out of it :)

Anyone suggest good shoes for the gym?

As for the program thats sorted as part of my prize, a personally tuned program buy the personal trainer for my first 3 weeks.

All you need is a good pair of trainers which are down to personal choice. Tracksuit bottoms and tshirt. Bag, towel and toiletries for showering after. Bottle for water and a small towel to take round with you! Hope all goes well I have been going for 4 months now and also had a PT trainer who was excellent :)

Flip flops for the changing rooms / showers are essential, dirty floors (fitness first)

Well you definately need good comfortable running trainers. a vest or baggy t-shirt. Running shorts or jogging bottoms! Lifting gloves depending on weather you will be doing heavy or light weights! I mean these aint for everyone,but I use them as I get blisters on my hands lol.

A small towel so that you can wipe your sweat off any machines, most gyms have this rule as a health and hygene issue!

Eat a banana before you go as it's the best thing you can eat for a slow energy boost!

Plenty of carbs (if you're more into exercise and need the energy)
More proteins in your diet if you're more into bulking. ie shakes and white and red meat!

most people will just take in a mix and not bother with all that carbs and protien crap.
But I personally keep my carbs down, but just enough for energy to keep the fat storing away. and keep my protiens up to keep the muscle refined.
