I wrap 'santas' present to each of my 3 children in different wrapping paper and place them underneath the tree, the ones from mummy and daddy are in their sacks (in the living room!) :santa:

my presents form santa just to get put in a stocking and i would wake up to find them in my room, and the presents off my mum were under the tree downstairs, ive not started doing all that yet as my daughter is only 2

I wrap presents from santa in different paper and then put them in the kids rooms at about 3am. Gifts from family go under the tree on christmas eve once kids are sleeping.
#4
DO NOT put them in the bedroom, you will be woken at 3.00am and then every 3 mins as they rush into your room to show you what they got.
The wrapping paper will be spread across the landing and they take a bite out of every sweetie in the selection boxes.

Why would you wrap presents for Santa? I thought Santa wrapped all the presents?

The idea of one gift "From Santa" sounds good.
#7
i learnt not to put selection boxes in their rooms, all empty before breakfast, they go under the tree

I used to get a chair full of unwrapped pressies on xmas morning in the sittingroom but we were only allowed downstairs when we were all awake and mum went first to check if 'santa had been'. All the family pressies were under the tree wrapped and we opened those after breakfast. Looking back, offically my parents bought us nothing, only santa forked out

Yep, this is what i used to do as a kid, hence why i dont put any in their bedroom's now!

we send money and a list to santa, grandma's and grandads, aunties and uncles etc do the same then santa delivers them into the front room, he delivers a stocking for each of them with new pj's, sweets and little things on xmas eve just to let them know he is on his rounds.

santa is too busy to deliver to adults of the family so we buy them instead.

god it gets very complicated

same here, i do the same with my kids, would never put them in their bedroom cos i wouldn't see them opening them and that's the best part!!

yes-we had the awful situation a few years ago when my little fella who was about 4 at the time asked why mummy and daddy had bought pressies for everyone apart from him ! We ended up having to take something from under the tree and take the label of it and give it to him from us (fortunately it was lego from my friend and i explained what had happened and she was great about it-just let on she was taking him shopping in the sales instead).

Now i always get some bits from us-and be careful-i nearly gave him something for the DS Father Christmas was bringing last year before i realised i wouldn't have known he was getting one !

I use different paper for their pressies than i use on anyone else-and make sure there is none of it around the house. Our neighbour replies to the letter left out for Father Christmas on Christmas Eve so the writing is different.

On Christmas eve we all do an A4 piece of paper with our names on and leave them by a pillow case for FC-and then in the morning they are full ! Anything else is left under the tree as it comes. My family all live miles away (and across the sea!) so most of their stuff is sent. That all goes under the tree. We explain it by saying FC brings pressies for you and then we by pressies for others to celebrate Christmas too.

Its really magical !

The other thung we always do is the children leave their FC letters in the fire place for him to fetch-and the next morning we always leave a gift-this year it was the Snowman DVD and some chocolate coins-so they really think he comes down the chimney to collect them-and they have something Christmassy to get them into the spirit-just a shame i will know all the words to the dvd by saturday we have watched it so many times !

Have fun !

My sons just under 3 but he has asked for just one thing from santa everytime hes seen him or anyone asks which is a train wash so that will be direct from santa and in his bedroom x His stocking will be in my room and I was thinking we could snuggle under the covers and open it together x then go downstairs for breakfast etc x Im then holding some of his other presants that he will get through the day, maybe 3-4 at a time and then he will actually get chance to play with his new stuff rather than just opening it all and ignoring it etc x also keeps the magic of the day going all day x

There wil be one presant in each bundle from 'father christmas' the rest will be mummy, daddy, nana etc etc x

Cut out a shape of the bottom of a shoe (out of card or cardboard) and sprinkle flour/talc into or around the cut out on the floor by your fireplace.
I used to do about 3 footprints by the fireplace for my little sister and say "ooohh santa's been" and now I will do it for my little boy when he is a bit bigger.

snag a bit of red cotton or wool on the fireplace as well and tell them santa must of caught his suit

wow thanks everyone! our eldest is 5 now and not daft! I want to be really carefull I get things right! he notices everything lol. I've got different wrapping paper which Ihave hidden in my wardrobe, I think we'll do 1 largish present which they have asked for from santa and the rest from mummy and daddy. we used to put our eldests presents in his room during the night but our youngest is a light sleeper so this year I think we'll just get all the presents (santa and family) out downstairs under the tree. we haven't got a chimney, so I think we'll do the footprint by the patio doors! ooooh I'm so excited! thanks for all your great ideas! x:santa:

U'd think that wouldn't u, but oh no - he's well lazy!!:p

Most of the pressies we buy are from Father Christmas. The kids come own in the morning and he's left a sack full of pressies for each of them in the lounge and main pressie next to it. I put all other presents ie from family and friends under the tree as soon as we get them or before we give ours out. That includes ones from us us to the kids and they usually open those after dinner as it takes so long to open the santa ones lol

ooo the excitment of it all :-D

Edit: oh and I wrap all in different wrap from wot I wrap mine in - 4 or 5 different pink rolls for daughter and then some boy wrap for my son. I think that was the main giveaway when I was a kid

Haha ditto in my family...funny we never qestioned why my mum and dad never got us anything lol

when my daughter was younger I used to get her to write to santa and ask for 1 thing, then that would be wrapped up in different paper and left near the half eaten mince pie and empty glass.. lol.

Why should that sod get all the credit? lol
#23
I told my son that the ones from daddy are the ones that santa asked me to wrap up because he was busy...but some are also from santa
#24
starsparkle2311

santas pressies in stocking (he dont get credit for anything expensive) all other pressies get sent off to santa to be delivered xmas eve. All pressies under tree in pink for her and silver for him, cant be doing with all the writing on little tags - lol
#26
ours are already under the tree, only my youngest still believes, she thinks some of them are empty boxes (they are,cos she has a feel and shake) santa fills them, others are what i buy, santa also leaves stockings on their beds, dunno about this year tho as they are at their Dads
#27
Do you mean santa isnt real?!?
#28
Our kids are older now and know that Santa isnt real but when they were younger we always told them that all the presents bought for them were from family and friends and they would send them to Santa for special wrapping and fairy dust......no way was he takin credit for us paying out for them :)
#29
used to write all kids presents from santa until my son asked what did we buy him
#30
when i was with my children's dad we used to wrap a load of gifts off us that went in sacks, and gifts off santa went under the tree, but now i am not with him and am a single parent with 5 children, i told them i had a letter off him saying he is now only filling their stockings as there are now too many children in the world, and all the gifts off me go under the tree, now if i say no to loads of expensive gifts they don't say santa will get us them, and they know i get the majority of the gifts, instead of them saying why do we get more off santa.
