i am just thinking and trying to put my menu together for christmas, when i was a kid christmas dinner was 12 till 10 there was loads of courses and different wine with each course and i have kept on doing this each christmas but the same courses and same thing seems boring now
so just wanted to see what you guys and gals have for your christmas courses and get some ideas

and also thinking of having beef this year instead of white meat but doesnt seem very christmassy does it?

DOES NO ONE HAVE SOUP AT CHRISTMAS ANYMORE? no one has mentioned it, i always do a soup like roast parsnip and garlic

We have 2 meats.....turkey & Gammon normally.
#2
I dont usually have a starter, but sometimes the OH etc does, he likes prawn cocktail.

Then we usually have beef and turkey and then finish off with an orange jelly trifle.
#3
No it doesn't and if you don't spend an absolute fortune on top quality beef, you could end up spoiling the whole christmas dinner, ie if it was tough or gristly. I'd stick with a good quality turkey - no harm in sticking with tradition imo.

We don't bother with a starter, we save ourselves for....

Roast turkey, roasties: potatoes, parsnips and brussels (yum!) . Mash potato, carrots, broc, green beans. Pigs in blankets, yorkie puddings, bread sauce and lashings of gravy. Oooh hungry now.

Althugh, debating beef this year.
