What do you pay for sky tv. Think i am paying too much £45?

Hi
I have noticed from a few other threads recently that i think i am paying way over the odds for sky.
We pay £45 a month for sky + and only have it in one room.
Earlier tonight one HUKDer said he was a new customer and was going to pay £29 for all the channels. What should i do to bring my bill down. I feel slightly ripped off at the moment. Wondered if I really was paying over the top or if just a few have got it lower.
Thanks and any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I suggest making a list of what you really watch, not the stuff you series link and let buildup on your Sky+, I mean the stuff you jump straight to and enjoy.

If only a few are on subscription channels I'd say cancel.

Unfortunately it sounds like you are on Sports which Sky pretty much have a monopoly on, £540/year, is it worth it???

i think ur £45 ur paying is totally dependent to what packages you have seems pretty low to me
im currently paying about £60 ish a month, then again i have the 6 mix tv of course then i have sky sports and unlimited broadband and sky talk unlimited and my line rental with sky,i do know that there are so many people on here that have manafactured gr8 deals through certain promotions but im not sure if there running anymore, maybe someone can be of more help to you.

Really isnt an option we watch a lot of sport and the kids love the sky channels. Personally wouldnt be bothered about the film channels but i dont think at the time it was that much more. I think you are right I think its a lot more if you want the sport.

I guess you are getting quite a lot for your money there. You might be right it might be a few who have had deals. May look into the broadband as that would save us money.
Thanks

I appear to be paying about £60 - all packages, movies, HD, broadband and calls. Does bug me though when everyone else brags about getting it all for virtually nowt.

I will definitely be keeping my eyes out on this site for deals regarding sky.
I know one man a few weeks ago said he had brought his down by phoning sky and saying him and his wife were splitting up and she was taking over the bill but could not afford the current price. They gave a good reduction if i remember and there was just a little paperwork involved in changing bank details. Might try that. There again i might just get rid of him and save on the sky sport. Theres an idea.

We have the sky tv and broadband, was costing us £53 per month, I have everything except for the sports.

But I cancelled the films, and paid for phone service and got it down to £35 Problem is the mrs is watching living tv all the time so no chance of freeview!

I think it's worth a try to call and "cancel" saying you can't afford it at the moment and see what deal your offered to stay. I phoned a few years a go and got a free sky + box and installation upgrade. I phoned yesterday (have very basic sky + package at £19 a month) to cancel as our sky plus box needed resetting at the weekend which meant I lost all saved in it. To stay I was offered a new sky + HD box and free installation which i have taken. Said I didn't want to pay for HD at the moment so just having the new box.
