Im fat myself but what I tend to see or hear about fat people is the assumptions that all fat people do is eat, eat and eat some more, then wash it down with a litre or two or pop.

What made me think this a lot was the new lottery advert, a fat woman sits down and first thing she does it eat a burger whilst food is stuck to her face and the guy looks annoyed(why? is sitting next to a fat person so disgusting?!) then he imagines winning the lottery and the fat person is STILL eating loads of food but hes having a good time at her expense.

I saw a Disney movie and in it there was a fat security guard sleeping on the job with a massive burger on his chest and doughnuts next to him.

Theres so much negativity in the media about fat people.

IMO people seem to think you are fat because you are lazy and greedy and a bad diet and its easy to be thin.

Rather than you can be fat just by eating the wrong foods but he healthy and not lazy and not eat junk food.

I am personally fat due to eating loads of carbs and late at night rather than how much I eat

And 2 years ago I staved for 3-4 days, had a packet of salad a day for 2 days, 2 cheese toasties a day for 2 days then a portion of packet mash a day for 2 days.

I that time I put on almost 2 stone.

I recently heard some nasty comments from people I know(who I am not friends with) who were calling me ugly smelly and fat behind my back despite them drinking as much as 5 nights a week, eating McDonalds a few times a week, ordering take aways most nights and doing no exercist.

So they should be fat, but I think its due to them being sick every time they drink on a night out or when they come home and the fact they have sex loads of times each day(I know them from halls)

I think that you sound like they really got to you. :-(
Dont let them! It just isn't worth it!
I have struggled with my weight for most of my life, I have never been huge, but I have always felt it... still do! People will always pick on somthing, it is just a case of realising this! You could be fat, thin, smelly, ginger, wear glasses, too tall, too short, spotty, whatever...... the list is endless!!!
Don't let them get to you! Trust me, there are bigger things to worry about in life than what we look like!:)
I like fat/ thin/spotty/smelly (in short doses!!! :-D)/ short/tall/ ....... whatever..... people who are nice!!!!

I must admit I generally do think fat people eat alot but I include myself in that as I must have put about a stone on in the last 2 weeks, not weighed myself but I can see it (I look pregnant) and feel my trousers tight.

I'm always a stone overweight anyway as I'm meant to be 8st 2 but I can't see me ever being that weight and am happy when I'm just over 9.

I guess it's because I know that when I put on weight it's because I've been over endulging on the good stuff (was on holiday last week) or just sitting at a desk stuffing my face late at night so I guess others are the same.

I know I can lose it if I want to I'm just not motivated enough yet.

I must admit, my eating habits are terrible, I probably eat more like my 2 year old than my 12 year old. I don't believe that everyone is built the same. If I ate your average diet, I would end up the size of a house! Its just the way it is! I live with it! When I am pregnant I actually lose weight for the 1st few months.... doesn't matter what I eat!!! :?
Wierd... maybe I just need a tapeworm!!! :-D

We're just different!

A wise man once said:

I met this girl on Monday, Took her for a drink on Tuesday, We were making love by Wednesday, And On Thursday and Friday and Saturday, We chilled on Sunday.

Whereas, a fat, and therefore stupid man once said:

I met this girl on Monday, Took her her for a drink on Tuesday, We were baking cakes by Wednesday, And on Thursday and Friday and Saturday, They chilled on Sunday.

I must say fat children upset me. Well, not the children themselves as below a certain age it's not their fault, but that their parents let them get that way. It is not fair on the children, they do not know any better and they grow up with bad eating habits and attitudes towards food because of their parents who don't teach them the meaning of portion control or healthy eating.
Adults, it's their decision what they eat and how they look, but children do not have that choice.

You put on 2 stone in 10 days!
Were you expecting to lose weight with this "diet"?
#12
Its all down to how you feel about yourself - I recently lost a couple of stone after seeing my holiday snaps and getting v upset that they looked like I was in widescreen (!) and am much happier and more confident now - also much fitter, I find that I have a lot more energy. I wasn't that overweight before but its made a huge difference to my life. I do resent all these air-brushed pics of celebs on beaches though, it is something we will never live up to. Also while I don't look at other people who are overweight and think that they are losers etc, I felt that I wasn't worth much when I was fatter so it really is just how you feel about yourself. If you do want to lose weight my advice is to not do a diet but just cut out the bad things for you bit by bit so if you are eating carbs late then try swapping that for something else and having your carbs earlier if you can, once you get used to that then you could cut out something else, its about changing your eating patterns to something you are happy to live on - if the weight comes off slowly you will be more likely to keep it off! Good luck with it all and don't take any notice of the idiots!!

totally agree im fat after having my baby although was overweight b4 , but when you see kids 5 stone and they look about 5 it breaks my heart because kids being kids . You know that child gonna get bullied. I was severely underweight as a small shild still wearing age 5-6 at age 9. So was always encourage to eat my dinner all up, and always offered 2nd's . Now i have a large appetite, no will power as always tired with small baby so food is a battle.
But i do think parents should be made to pay if their kids are grossely overweight for no medical reason and the child is under 10. And help should be provided by NHS ie dietician help for parents that dont know what they doing wrong
Once they go to secondary school its different they get a choice at dinner time etc

My children (now grown) were fat. They did not have sweets/biscuits/puddings/chips/burgers etc.etc. They ate lots of fruit and veg. played sports (mainly squash) and were always on the go. They are now fat adults. My daughter goes to the gym every day etc etc. I am a fat and healthy adult. I am vegetarian, eat well balanced meals. My partner (husband in a week) eats like a horse - lots of rubbish and is like a rail. He says if he ate as little as I do (and he does know what I eat) he'd pass out. He is always hungry and doesn't exercise. Of the two of us he is far less healthy than me. I believe absolutely that we are just the way we are and that picking on people because they are fat is a form of bullying and prejudice and one day will be seen as seriously as all forms of prejudice are.

Man, this was a heavy discussion to start between 1 and 2 am in the morning

Some people are prone to putting on weight as well as loosing it /not putting it on!

Some can just look at a bag of crisps and put on weight, it's just the way you are i suppose!

No matter how much i eat (i am ALWAYS hungry) i never seem to put the weight on, now whether that is due to having an active on the go life - i just don't know! (No exercise just always rushing around!!)

It's not worth upsetting yourself about, just be happy with your effort to try!

I don't need to think of fat people now, the price of food may change their eating habits if not their bank balances. Seriously though dietitians, nutritionists, doctors and heart consultants can tell you the brute honest facts about being overweight and the many numerous problems it can cause. If you are over weight to the extent that its causing you physical and medical issues then its on your owness to sort it out, being abit squidgy isn't what I would consider to be fat.
[mod]#19
Some people are fat because of their health...........some people are fat because of genes.............and some people are fat because they eat like there's no tomorrow.
#20
If it's a problem to YOU then change YOUR ways & stop "eating loads of carbs....late at night" & cut back on the booze.
You don't make any mention of any form of excercise, (just because you don't mention it doesn't mean I'm saying you don't do it) but if your love of carbs is so great then surely it would be a better idea to use these as "fuel" before some form of excercise/workout??!?

If it's not a problem for you but it is for others people then just tell 'em to "fornicate off"

To be fair......everyone is judged. It's human nature.

Is there anyone who can honestly say they never judge anyone????

People look and say "GOD, he/she is ugly/fat/skinny etc"

If it affects you then it says more about your own self worth.
#23
I think if people are gonna pick on you they will. When I was younger I was thinner than I am now, was tall (I havn't grown since I was 12) and by the time I was 18 I looked damn good (didn't apriciate it then but looking back I can see it) I still got picked on cos I was GINGER!!

TBH honest I think that if someone is negitive about your size, shape, colour, creed, whatever, then it says alot about their mindset and you can bet your bottom dollar they have negitive feelings about themselves.
#24
I dont like them, although they are doing me a favour, because I will have a better chance of getting a job then them.

I think there should be a fat tax on people, as well as outlets for them to help them lose weight.

I agree! I am overweight and from time to time I diet (sometimes successfully, sometimes not!), but I am a firm believer that you have to happy with yourself to begin with, otherwise no amount of dieting or lifestyle changes will alter the REAL you.
Its WHO you see in the mirror, not WHAT you see that matters. As far as others judging, then I agree that we have all been guilty of that at sometime or another- it is human nature. IMO if we were all the same then it would be a mighty boring world!

how is that, in 2030, 40% of people in the UK will be considered obease. Its a disgrace how you see alot of fat children these days, I blame the parents, because its what they give them to eat.

When I was in school there was like 2 fat people in my whole year of about 500 children. now its like every other child.

True - I agree.
Is it because we as parents (which I know you cant be!) are too lazy to cook our kids real meals and give em frozen packet ones instead? Or is it cus we allow em to spend hours on the pc/Xbox etc? Or is it because we don't want em going out to play like we did when we were kids cus of the well documented dangers? Its a tough call. I hate to see fat kids too, but I can understand why it happens- too much choice, too little parental responsibility combined with too many external risks.

doesnt really matter what time it is imo if you only ate carbs at that time then the body would be able to burn them off, its the troughing through the day that means by the time you get to the night your body has had enough and cant burn them off

I think its a combination of both, and the fact that parents are un-educated about food. You see a pre packed ready made meal and you see the "low cal" "low fat" on the packet, so you think wow this is good. If you decided to take a closer look at the ingredients you would see its packed with E numbers and other chemicals for me have no place in food.

I agree too but on the flip side the convenience foods which are so bad for you are cheaper than the good foods which is terrible really. When you consider the cost of everything anyway its no wonder that the (generalisation and IMO) usually ill-educated, benefit drawing and low paid members of society are buying the cheap foods en mass. Thus creating a market for the sale of these carp products and in return eating more of them and getting fatter and lazier, being more lazy means buying more convenience foods to avoid actual cooking.

The fact it actually costs a lot more to eat healthily is disgusting but it also depends on how you value your body and the section of society I have mentioned are usually the ones filling up Pizza Hut at lunchtime to eat all they can for a fiver...........

I agree with the statement on a whole, but if you shop around a little, you could make your own burger and chips cheaper or the same amount of price as a MacDonalds etc.

As you said the problem is that people are just too lazy. I eat 5 meals a day, I cook everyone on my own, and I know everything thats in them, too many people just open the freezer and throw some Fish fingers in, knowing not what is actually inside them.

I agree, even though it aint right it is a sad fact that it is more expensive to eat healthily.
As far as education is concerned, we are far more educated now as a nation (cus there will always be some dimwits around) than we were say 30 years ago for example. And I don't mean educated as in learning I mean educated in the sense of diet awareness. IMO, the "wrong" foods are too easy to get hold of. They are cheap, convenient and quick- and we are all such lazy gits now, that we usually go for the easy option.

they are quick easy and cheap to get because of whats inside them, chemicals, food such as fruit, veg, meat takes time to produce which is why they are at a higher price. Food wasent this expensive about 2months ago, its just gone up lately because of all this poppy talk about inflation.

I agree, but we arent talking about individual price hikes here, we are talking about the cost of feeding a family a balanced diet. (well I am at least!)
I am a stay at home Mom and I feed my family REAL food, they are healthy and happy people. I can do this because I have the time to prepare proper meals (which is one reason I decided to become a stay at home mom in the first place i.e have time for my kids), but I cant criticize INFORMED people who have very little choice but to feed frozen/ready meals because of other constraints on their time. Others are a different matter- then we are back to the laziness issue..

Dont agree at all, i eat a lot of turkey breast which is very cheap, white fish fillets which are extremely cheap for a bagfull in sainsburies, get down to lidl or aldi for cheap fruit and veg, its more expensive to buy rubbish ready meals or expensive pre-packed sandwiches imo

oh, and have u any idea how cheap and easy it is to make fresh pasta? 15 quid layout on a pasta roller machine then its pennies for batch.

And before you call me uneducated or naive, I would like to point out that I have a degree in Business Studies and Economics and always make an INFORMED choice whenever there is the opportunity, all things considered!
