what do you think i should do!!(ebay.)

hi all right i won 2 items off the same seller on thursday morning and immediately asked him if he could package both together and send by next day delivery.

i asked him to send me the invoice for both items together so i could save on postage.
so i waited and waited and no response so on saturday i said look i am not being funny but if you do not answer me within the next 24 hours i am buying from elsewhere!!!

so on sunday after not hearing from him i bought elsewhere then yesterday he messaged me back saying he does not have to answer immediately to my beck and call and he has a life!!! this really annoyed me as i knew he had been on the computer and answered other peoples messages as it was on the bottom of his listings.

he is now demanding payment of which i no longer have it what should i do as he is threatening to open disputes on me for none payment.but he still hasnt even invoiced me so it looks like he wont discount on the postage either.

Did he say in the item descriptions that he'd offer a postage discount for multiple wins? If not, you shouldn't presume you'll receive one.

The seller has done nothing wrong, and imo you'll deserve a non-paying bidder strike if you don't pay.
#2
What delivery estimate did the seller give?
Did the seller offer a multiple item postage discount?

Sounds like you've already made your mind up tbh...
#3
on this listing itself, does the seller offer a discount on postage and handling when you combine purchases?

Also, how long is the handling time quoted at?

Personally if you did this to me, i would want you struck off of ebay,
#4
see if he will mutually agree to cancel the transaction then he will get the fees back and he can list again.

I hate it when buyers win something then start asking questions.
You should have asked these questions before you bid TBH and he is well within his rights to file a NPB against you.

Make that 2 non-paying bidder strikes as it is two seperate items

Unfortunately, I think he has a point. It is obviously courteous to respond as quickly as possible but I fear you were too hasty in buying elsewhere. I think you are in the wrong and are obliged to honour the sale.
#8
he hasnt stated the postage but that really wasnt the point it was the fact he didnt answer my message and when he did he was being nasty in what he was saying so yeah that has put me off buying from him.
if he cannot be bothered to answer a message where would i stand if the items never turned up.
i dont know i just feel i cannot trust him after this.

i agree, could you not just have waited a bit longer? or just bought the items individually from him if you were so desperate? if you didn't recieve the items from him then you can just get the money back through paypal. that way you are protected, but 2 unpaid strikes will hurt.

Hardly surprising tbh....

You bid on the item. You agree to the terms of the sale. I hardly ever send invoices for sold items as people usually have the common sense to click on the 'pay seller' button after the auction(s) end. If I offer a postage discount I state it in the description, and if there's no mention of a discount, I don't offer one.

You should have just paid for the items and then discussed any sort of postage refund afterwards, rather than threatening the seller with non-payment

why? Does his feedback show that he is unreliable, how many pos/neut/negs does he have?

He probably feels the same about you.

why!!! i only asked him to answer my question or i was buying from elsewhere.
when i sell on ebay i always answer questions straight away especially when i am waiting for payment from them.

Make up your mind, your now saying you don't want to but it because of his attitude when you already said you don't have the money for payment in OP.

Don't be making excuses you won the bid so should pay. He may be thinking your attitude stinks by the way you were demanding he replied to your message. People do have a life away from PCs and in case you didn't notice it was the nicest weekend of the year so perhaps he was actually busy
#17
to be fair to the seller if he didn't state in the listing that he'd send next day or that he'd combine postage then you cant expect it. It's fair enough to ask but you cant decide after a two day wait that you are going to buy elsewhere. It's quite normal to wait for contact for a couple of days especially over a weekend
#18

he hasnt stated the postage.

He MUST have stated the postage on the original listing and it would have clearly stated if he offered a discount for multiple purchases. He must also have stated a handling time, what was it?

But that's you. Not everyone else does. You should have just paid for the items, and not tried to haggle on the postage after the auctions had ended.

As mentioned above you might well end up with two NPB strikes from this, and I'm pretty sure it's three and you're out. If it were me, I'd pay up and then mark it down as a lesson learned - always find out about postage discounts before the auction ends.

that didn't answer the question, if they are all positive then why would you think you can't trust him, if they are all negs then fair enough.

When I buy, I always expect people with low feedback (or from china) to take longer to answer emails, don't know why, just seems to be teh way it is!

yes he has stated the postage it was combined that i ment. he has also stated it is for next day but at a cost of £7 per item so if i pay it (£14 for the 2 items.) and he has said he will package them together but wont budge on the price of postage it will cost £7 to post both.
we are talking about 2 small pieces of jewellery not something really heavy.
#22
If the seller has not listed that he will offer a discount for mulitple items, he does not have to.

As the 2 transactions are seperate, hes within his rights to ship them seperate and charge you for both.... he can also send them together and still charge you full price for both items as thats what you have bidded and won..

Its upto him how he sends therm.

Its your own fault for not asking before bidding on the items. You won the bids so pay for the items and take it as a lesson learned to ask your questions before bidding

Is the seller markcsmith1 ?

If so, why do you say you won both auctions on Thursday morning, when it seems that you won one on Thursday afternoon and one on Sunday?? Hardly fair harassing them for something you won less than two days ago !!! That seller also makes no reference to combining postage.

Item no's:

260606513158
260606588374

You are in the wrong. You 'won' two items, you haven't paid. Sorry!

oh, and giving them an ultimatum after only 2 days is just ridiculous imo!

no he knew i was going to bid for the other one as i told him in my original message on thursday as i wanted a buy it now on it but bidding had already started.
maybe it is my own fault on the post side as i didnt ask before hand.
maybe i should try and scrap the money together and pay.
anyways how did you know my ebay id?

Easy....... Just looked at OP's FS listings on here, found their eBay username, and searched on the items they've won in the last 15 days :whistling:

Its people like you that stop me from using ebay

OP had used it as a reference for feedback elsewhere when they had no/little feedback on here. You just need to look at one of their earlier FS threads on here.

It's always handy to see if someone seems like a reliable buyer/seller on here, but also works the other way around with eBay :whistling:

yes i did buy something else on sunday and i will scrap the money together for his.
i dont know why its people like me that stop you from using ebay considering this is the only time i have had a problem.
#37
The think the offical line from ebay is that a seller has something like 14 days to get in tocuh with you following the sale of an item,.

So the seller is within his rights to give you 2 item strikes.. 1 more and your banned!

Also.... you may not like this..... but its buyers like you who make ebay rubbish and have cost me cash in the past,....ie bidding on something, then failing to pay leaving the seller out of pocket for fees as he will have to wait until 14 days or so before putting a claim in for failed payment..

The best thing to do would be to buy the items off the seller and then you resell --- or just get 2 failed payment stikes..

in the opening post you said you won 2 items on Thursday morning
His earlist that ended thursday was 4.24pm - not sure many people would call that morning.
On saturday you emailed him saying 'look i am not being funny but if you do not answer me within the next 24 hours i am buying from elsewhere!!!'
Then Sunday dinner time you bid on another item of his that you won.

So you lied in your opening post on here, and told him you wouldn't buy from him if he didn't answer your emails then went ahead and bid on another one anyway.

Guess who's been added to my blocked bidder list.

You are completely in the wrong here
#40
common sense on both sides would be good but we are talking about ebay so none of that will happen lol
