What do you think of the Ford Fiesta Zetecs?

Apart from being pretty common...What do you think of the look or price of the new fiesta zetecs?

Good value for money etc?

Thinking of getting a 1.4 3 door petrol with parking sensor and tinted glass in black metallic paint and have been offered £10,320 OTR with this scrappage scheme.

Seems pretty cheap from what I have seen but any better/cheaper/similar alternatives?

You will always get pro and anti Ford people so it it personal choice really.

IMO they are great in general, but each car off the production line will be different so who knows.

What do you mean? are you saying that the quality is inconsistent?

No more than any other manufacturer.

The point I was trying to make was that 2 people can have exactly the same car, one will be over the moon and have now problems and go on t obuy countless cars of the same brand. The other will be unhappy and have several problems and never touch another one with a barge pole.

Yeah I take your point, I guess its the same with all products though.. whether its restaurants or dealing with certain companies..everyones customer experience is different and that affects your future decisions...Littlewoods and Additions really springs to mind :) Ive never bought a new car so I will have to wait and see

A 12 week wait for a car, I would be hoping the quality was world class  but I doubt it.

12 weeks? it must be parked at the back of the field then.

...for the last 3 years

Yeah 12 weeks was a bit shocking when I heard it...I was thinking 8 maximum.

Its due to the fact that the scrappage doesnt apply to pre registered cars so when you place the order they then build it....would of thought they would want to get rid of the piles of ones they already had.

Stupid scrappage scheme anyway...just makes the companies £1000 less flexible on what offers they accept from you and definitely no chance of 0% finance.

Unregistered cars waiting for a buyer  If you buy one and check the VIN I bet it'll have a build date at least 6 months old.

OP why a petrol not a diesel?
#16
My mrs went shopping for a new car and went to a VW main dealer, she wanted a new polo and was quoted 16weeks, she wasnt eligible for the scrappage scheme as her car wasnt 10years old til October. Even tho if she placed the order now it would be by the time the new polo gets here.

In the end she got a VW Beetle 1.6 with 16miles on the clock (GL58 plate) for £11,995. She got £1000 trade in for her V reg 1.4 Polo (115,000 miles) bringing it down to £11,000 cash.

Effectively getting the scrappage scheme as a list price new beetle is £13,000.

Also noticed that Skoda were doing £2,500 off in the scrappage sheme.

Diesel feels like a really annoying game of call of duty!!!

it just feels like its lagging all the time.

Dont really travel that much distance to warrant getting a diesel and wouldnt notice the difference in money I am pocketing from extra mileage from a diesel.

Yeah they do look nice!!

yeah no plans to enter the le mans this year or even next but thanks.

I drove a 1.6 diesel astra and it felt so slow...well the speed was good but acceleration was terrible took a couple of seconds after pushing the accelerator for anything to happen.

I'd at least try the fiesta diesel, ford diesel are class leading.

You are going to save money no matter how many miles you do, diesels are a no brainer for me really.

Hmm i may give it a test drive!

Diesels do seem like the obvious choice for most... for me though you pay more for the car, it does extra miles to the gallon but on the other hand from experience it feels laggy and whats to say that it doent happen again where diesel is almost 20p/litre more expensive than petrol.

Making the purchase of a diesel pointless.

According to the Ford site

Diesel 67 mpg
Petrol 49 mpg

=34% more mpg

No matter how few miles you do or how big the gap gets you will still save money having a diesel over the long term, believe me. Given the fact that diesel is at the most 15-20% dearer.
