I am a novice, so take as little notice of me as you can. Wait until someone with some idea of what they are talking about comes along.

The names of the part iso files can be called anything. I don't see why you can't use the CMD box to do it.
(Edit: I see it's .iso.001. No idea about them sorry)

Whether you have to burn the end result depends on what it is. If it was a Wii game that needs to be on a DVD, then yes. If it were a PSP game that just needs to be dropped on a memory stick, then "No".

aye, im doing some trial and error.

hjsplit isnt bad, a little slow to join but it worked flawless

before usin hjsplit

i extracted the .001 using winrar
i then went ahead to extract the files that came out of that extraction, but it kept stalling at a particular winrar archive.

i used hj split to join the separate 00.1 files

gave me on full ISO

i then mounted this on a virtual drive, but didnt follow ahead with anything. it mounted successfully.
im just in the process of extracting that ISO to find the rar contents within, and try extracting these to see if i find that error again
